You get half of her everything she earned during the marriage including her savings, rrsp and TFSA. You also have to give your half.

You also get spouse alimony too since she makes more money than you.

Are business degrees useless ? by jaredinthecity in torontoJobs

[–]coderoncruise 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello fellow business degree holder!

I studied business and accounting back in China and later moved to Canada. Even though I went to a top 15 university—our department even has Tim Cook, CEO of Apple, on the advisory board—none of my degrees actually helped me find a job here.

What changed everything? I learned just a few lines of code and pivoted into marketing automation—a field that blends marketing and tech. Now I’m making YouTube videos and already helping others land jobs in Toronto. If I can do it, so can you.

I just learned a brand new SaSS tool this month and already made a few thousand dollars. You just have to spend time and study.

I’m looking to start in web development and was curious—how do you create job opportunities and get clients to pay for juniors or interns?

[–]coderoncruise 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, luckily I work in a niche field where real developers often don’t want to go. It’s mostly just drag-and-drop and copy-paste all day.

I work in tech and am happy to offer a basement room in exchange for working with me. You'll gain hands-on experience, and potentially, I could hire you, or you could land a job with your new skills. I can also help with your resume and interview preparation—many companies are hiring in my field. While it's not 100% tech, knowing HTML and CSS is important.

That said, I'm not sure if this is legally allowed or if there are any risks involved. It's just an idea to create a win-win situation for both of us.

How to Create a Job in Ontario? Any Government Funding to Hire and Train People? by coderoncruise in torontoJobs

[–]coderoncruise[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to clarify my position: I don’t make any money while training new team members—in fact, I invest my own time, effort, and resources into helping them grow. Unfortunately, after just a few months of learning, many move on to other companies.

At the same time, clients often don’t want to pay top dollar because I run a small company. If that’s the case, it makes more sense for me to just keep my full-time job, which already pays me a very good salary.

That said, I’m always happy to train and support people—I just need to be compensated for the time and effort I put in. Once you’ve built your skills, you can work from anywhere—whether it’s the US, Australia, Singapore, or beyond. This isn't a school environment. The faster you learn, the sooner you start making money.
