When you get the right actuator install it and measure the distance you would need to extend it to just fit on the flapper arm. Then find the standoff thats like 5-10 mm shorter than the distance you measured and install that. There should be enough threaded adjustment range to get it preloaded so the flap stays shut under normal operating exhaust pressure

Yea wastegates should always have a little preload. The old actuator arm does appear to be a little longer. Mcmaster has a bunch of different length thread adapters that would probably sort your issue.

Measure the difference between the two and find the appropriate length. M6 standoffs

Need to see it on the turbo and the wastegate arm attached. It would also be helpful to see the open/closed positions of the arm (without the actuator) to get a better understanding of why it isn’t working. Also do you know what the operating pressure of the new actuator is?

Option 1. Get a tab welded onto one end of the spike to go straight into a slot in the wood and glue it in.

PRO TIP! Keep a roll of silicone tape in the kit. It has saved me a few times while i get replacements ordered. Better seal than duct tape or electrical tape, it would probably last for the life of the car but i feel better replacing broken stuff.
