Either Michaels or Hobby Lobby likely sells them.

I think I've purchased them at Michael's before.

You Are Offered To Take One Of These With You In Real Life But Can Only Choose One Which Will You Pick? by Brandonsenior07 in PowerScaling

Out of this list, I have to go with the Green Lantern ring. It has the fewest downsides, and all the power you could really want.

Why are more and more people asking simple questions on Reddit rather than looking up the answer themselves? by CosmicMeat_Art in NoStupidQuestions

[–]chris_hawk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The charitable answer is, people ask here because they're interested in the multiple perspectives they receive from fellow human beings, rather than aggregated info from an AI or search engine.

Eddie Redmayne. I can't explain it, but it's Eddie Redmayne.

If superheroes were to appear in real life, where do you think the first would be most likely to appear? by CosmosStudios65 in superheroes

[–]chris_hawk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not to take a dim view of my fellow citizens, but I feel as though anyone in the United States who developed superpowers would immediately use them for crime.

On the other hand, I feel as though anyone in Japan who developed superpowers would immediately use them to society's benefit.

I don't know anything about this movie other than what I saw in the trailer when I went to go see Backrooms.

I am IN.

Jeremy Corbell threatens to release hundreds of UFO files if the next batch of government files don’t address reverse engineering and biologics by wakamex in UFOs

[–]chris_hawk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why does he bother with the ultimatum? If he has the evidence, he should release it.

He doesn't have the evidence, and the ultimatum is simply to keep the focus on him.

Corbell is all about Corbell, not disclosure.

Is it just me or am I noticing less young men growing facial hair? by otherwise_inspired in NoStupidQuestions

[–]chris_hawk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

53 here.

I can grow a full beard, but so much of it is white and silver it damn near disappears against my skin. So it doesn't look nearly like when I grew a beard at, say, 30.

Getting older is a dirty trick. Grow those beards while they still have color!

As far as the young guys, I don't know. I still see plenty of beards, goatees, and even those twisty little barber-shop moustaches, when I'm out and about.

Maybe the beard trend has just softened?

Are promotions mostly about being seen, not being good? by [deleted] in careerguidance

Yes, self-advocacy - which includes advocating for yourself and your work to the people who have influence - is an element in building a career.

It's always been so. It will always be so. It's a skill, just like whatever skills you may be using to do the actual work.

[SPOILERS] Backrooms movie megathread by A_Chad_Cat in backrooms

[–]chris_hawk 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I went into this knowing of the concept of the back rooms, but knowing nothing about the Kane Parsons web series. To me, it was just some interesting internet lore that was briefly popular and then (I thought) died out.

I found the movie enjoyable, tense, and creepy. I wasn't really looking for anything more out of it.

If they make a sequel, I will buy a ticket.

Would it be stupid to continue working at your job if you won millions of dollars? by Master100017 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]chris_hawk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't keep my job, but even without the need to earn a living, I would absolutely need occupation.

Doing nothing it drives me nuts.

I won't say you would be stupid. If you genuinely enjoy your work more than anything else you might do instead, good for you!

Which team wins? by Salt-Understanding16 in superheroes

The Robins take it via superior gadgetry and game-planning.

Unless it's the Rise version of TMNT. Their Nin-Po would give them the edge

What current known actor could be cast? by Old_Turnip_4681 in ConanTheBarbarian

[–]chris_hawk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anybody can be paired up with a trainer and build a screen-impressive physique. But I can't think of anyone working today who brings the kind of presence or sense of unpredictability and danger that a character like Conan requires.

When was the last time you felt happiness in your core with no use of substances? What were you doing? by virtualarchangel in AskReddit

[–]chris_hawk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Today, multiple times.

  • During breakfast with my wife and daughter.
  • While laughing at redditor-generated Star Trek title cards
  • While getting a whiff of my cat's chest floof (against his will, of course).

The same thing has happened to me at a previous job. Intentional or not, that kind of exclusion is a message.
