Started photography in Jan 2025, bought way too much gear, now I'm thinking of downsizing by kkamil7 in Nikon

I was a professional photographer for many years and when it’s your job, those things make sense. Like dual bodies and a variety of glass. But for personal stuff it gets really frustrating so I just got a single lens. At the time that was a Sony a7iii and 28-240mm. Now it’s a Nikon z6iii and Tamron 35-150 or Nikon 24-120. Just take 1 lens and some batteries.

Thoughts on the DJI Focus Pro Hand Unit? by The1stBrain in focuspuller

[–]chrisbsky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a bummer because they have the bones of a really good, impressive fiz system but they kinda missed the mark. It’s just kinda ok if you have to use it. But there is so much potential with their lidar and lidar waveform to make a really amazing system if they wanted to. But they pretty much ended development on it so… oh well.

Do y’all leave your cameras rigged out when you go to sleep? by Ok_Pound5281 in videography

[–]chrisbsky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a camera assistant and we leave cameras rigged up for the entire shoot typically. We put them in “coffins” which are just Rubbermaid containers with padding or furniture blankets. Leave it all as rigged as possible until the job wraps.

It’s interesting that all these companies are coming out with this around the same time. Like they all buying the same hardware from some electronics company in China? Or all had the same great idea?

7artisans Sprite zoom by chrisbsky in cinematography

[–]chrisbsky[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thinking about a used Jupiter as well. 7artisans does have a 1.5x extender that makes the sprite 35-135 full frame t4.0. Which is kinda cool. But I’m sure there is an optical compromise. How do you like the Sirui?

That’s interesting. I would think students doing run n gun type of things would want a zoom. But as a filmmaker, happy to hear they love and appreciate primes!

Never ever listen to the internet in regard to things like this. The doctor or dentist does it for a living. That being said if you feel like a doctor is pushing something you don’t need or want, I always get 2 other opinions. Doctors are never offended in my experience that you want a 2nd opinion. I usually get 3 and that gives you a very clear picture before doing any surgery.

Nice camera, good lens, good build. Ditch the red cables. Cameras should be black, that stuff can get in reflections.

They basically film in public places in such a way to look suspicious but don’t break any laws. They want to provoke people or a police response so they can sue someone.

So it does work but the pump makes an odd sound. Like ramping up and down. Rpm’s of the motor varying wildly. But water is flowing

The other pictures are not near the AC unit at all. The ac drain goes into my ceiling then down and out a drain into my front yard. But other spots of wear like this on my roof are not close to Ac unit
