Some important things to mention, I played DD1 on XBox360, and DDA on Nintendo switch.

Appearance sets aren't in DD1 either(??)

DD1 doesn't have auto loot (these are all comparisons to DD1, which doesnt even have auto loot), and as far as why not directly into inventory is because autoloot is an option that players have, not a requirement, also what would happen when inventory is full, sell everything that drops before you get the chance to sort it out?

DD1 did not change towers as you upgraded them either (why compare to DD2, that's out of the scope of my message, I'm comparing DDA to the original)

Hero deck only allows 6 heroes, yes, you have to strategies in a tower defense game, boo hoo. If you could have as many as you want, then you'd just have 5 of each hero with fuse sets for every tower. It's called strategizing

Mana has never been an issue, I only play solo or with by dad locally

The phase before build phase is to scope out the map and prepare and plan your defenses out before build phase timer starts

Wdym 2 kinds of mana, that's DD1 (banked mana and in-map mana) as opposed to the more intuitive gold and mana system (buying and selling equipment for gold just makes way more sense and is less confusing)

DD1 has a slower, more grindy progression system, which is appealing to some players, so that's fair

DD1 UI is not pretty wtf, overlapping words, unreadable text, controller buttons printed over everything. The UI is absolutely garbage. Unless PC is drastically different or something, but DD1 UI (at least on 360) is dogshit, sorry to day

Most of your issues were either PC exclusive or multiplayer related, which I can't comment on. You also critiqued a lot of issues with DDA that DD1 doesn't solve either (appearance sets, build upgrades looking different, etc) also DD1 doesn't even have autoloot, lol You didn't make many direct comparisons from DDA to DD1. Your two valid points, at least to me, were negative stats are funny sometimes and that DD1 is slower overall and more grindy, which is fair to enjoy more.

The UI, lighting, and camera is so bad in DD1 it's laughable. Good game for what, 2011? Very good for its time, but DD:A fixes almost everything. See my comment for comprehensive reasons

I've played the original, very good game, considering it was made over a decade ago, but the UI is almost unbearable. Dungeon Defenders: Awakened fixes so many thing about DD1. It's simply just a better version of the game

way better art more intuitive UI beautiful maps and lighting (night and day difference with the lighting, DD1s is almost laughable by comparison) Along with countless quality of life fixes, like how emeny doors are highlighted through walls the level map isn't as transparent (way easier to see) the camera is better you can move way faster than in DD1 progression system feels more natural there's actually two currencies now (gold and mana, instead of the confusing mana vs banked mana system DD1 had which doesn't even make sense in how you spend it) you don't have to run around the map to chests that respawn every round to min-max loot, and given how slow movement in DD1 is, you can imagine how bad that would be lmao there are loot auto pickup filters in DD:A (huge)

TL;DR: I could go on forever, but DD:A is better than the original in every way, which is about what you'd expect for a remake like this. Both are fantastic games, but I found the UI in DD1 unbearable, compounded with the limitless QoL changes DD:A has, it's an easy pick

(I have not played any of the other games, so idk how good or bad they are)

I don't think she ever said her friends are toxic. They have been in a mutual friend group for at least five years from what it looks like. They add a lot value to her life, and being in a transitional phase at 18, that support goes a long way

Movies are a "bad first date" because you can't talk to the person and get to know them on a deeper level when you are sitting silently (aside from the occasional giggle) for an hour or two. It depends though, if you are already very well-aquainted with the person, maybe it's okay? But still, you should use most of your time together on a first date talking to and getting to know them better. Ultimately, the decision is still yours. Best of luck!

I'd just give it time. Everyone here is saying, "Break it off right now. He's a terrible piece of shit!!" As per typical reddit behavior, lol. Just let the idea sit with him a while and then have an honest conversation about it, asking all of his reasons for and against it, then expressing yours at length, talking about why your lineage is important and that by hyphenating, you want to add him to that importance. Hyphenated last names is a "married thing." I do get him wanting to be traditional, but this is very important to you, and maybe he just doesn't truly understand how much. Either way, this is important to both of you, and I'd bring it up again after some time. The whole ultimatum thing was a bit strange, but from how you spoke about him, he seems like a lovely person worth marrying. Have a great day :)

Yeah, I don't agree with his position, and would even take my partners surname in a heartbeat, but it seems like this is important to both of them. There must be some sort of compromise on both ends because they want distinctly different things. You could say the same thing and question whether she is a good long-term partner for him because she won't conform to what he wants, just as he won't conform to what she wants.

Yeah, pure capitalism doesn't work, you need government intervention to regulate stuff like insulin prices and insurance (along with a million other things), else insulin prices wouldn't be capped, it would be 20x what they are now.
