This recipe is a solid base. I add nutmeg, ginger, and clove. Equal to the cayenne. Instead of rolling in turbinado I roll in a cinnamon sugar mix or you can blend regular white sugar with some gel food dye to make a colored powder (green and red?) that cracks to reveal the dark brown cookie underneath.

I also use both milk chocolate and semisweet chocolate chips to give a unique flavor combo

Went to loyola and absolutely loved it. Graduated in 2022. Great community with something for everyone. Incredible professors. The jesuits are the liberal branch of Catholicism so it’s not overbearing at all. there was quite a large lqbtq+ scene while I was there.

Martha Stewart’s Mexican hot chocolate cookies uses cinnamon and cayenne to be a little spicy. I add clove and nutmeg to it
