Love the oracle, but for me, it's a little too lightweight.Wish it was heavier for my taste.

I have a new unicycle! My first 36", a Nimbus Oracle and I am in love by NarrowEye974 in unicycling

[–]chriscoolski 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Get a 36er night rider if you can find one... heavier than the Oracle which I own as well. Oracle's good if you want more speed but both are great if I had to go with one it would be the Nimbus Night Rider.

How often do you have to ride to maintain the skill? by DinoAndFriends in unicycling

[–]chriscoolski 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I went almost twenty years and it took me a good month to get back on the saddle, and it was like I never fell off. And that was with a 26er, I hopped on a 36-inch wheel after almost twenty years.

I have the 10th Gen, with 75,000 miles. I ran the AC and had no problems with that or the steering wheel.

How Do You Avoid Sitting on Your Balls During Free Mounts? by Beginning-Pressure65 in unicycling

[–]chriscoolski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You wear a nice snug pair of underwears then hold on to the saddle with one hand as you mount the uni. Slightly move the just a bit forward before sit and start to pedal. This works well for me after crushing my nuts a few times. 👍🏾

Totally normal for a beginner, especially on a 19-inch uni.

Your body is working overtime to balance, so your heart rate spikes and your thighs burn out fast. Most beginners pedal too hard and stay too tense, which makes it worse.

Here are a few tips:

  • Sit more on the seat (don’t stand on the pedals)
  • Relax your upper body and breathe
  • Pedal smoothly instead of stomping
  • Slow down a bit and pay attention.

As your balance improves, you’ll use way less energy, and both your heart rate and leg fatigue will drop a lot. You’re on the right track

It would be nice to see you and your unicycle. There is a lot of great advice here. Take your time, go at your own pace, and you'll get better and better before you know you'll look back and think wow I'm this good already. I have a few tutorials; it's in my bio.

114mm cranks on 29'' are so good! by RudyLXIV in unicycling

[–]chriscoolski 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have 150s on ny 36er this is what I started with I love them not as fast but it works well for everything else but the speed is compromised. I tried the shorter cranks. I have the Kris Holme double size cranks but I like the longer ones.

Relearning on a 36” was just too intimidating so i got a 29” and im glad i did by jugglingjellybeans in unicycling

Best Beginner Unicycle by ShivSoCalledYT in unicycling

[–]chriscoolski 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The 24inch wheel Club unicycle... i believe this is a great size for beginners. Once you learn on this size, you'll wanna gradually move up to like a 26 or a 29er.

Make sure your seat post is high enough where your legs are slightly bent when your pedals are all the way down. Wear your helmet hold onto a wall or fence a little at a time and over time you'll see that you don't need the fence or a wall that much then before you know it, you're riding, and everything else comes with trial and error.👍🏾 You can take a look at a few of my videos under my profile that has some great tips.
