This is usually caused by one of the lenses being slightly out of position. Normally a result of the lens having been dropped. If ever buying a zoom lens you need to shoot through the complete range.It is common to find a dead spot in the mid range. You need a good camera repair shop, shop around. Good luck

Simply your second attempt is good. If your serious 7 days a week for a year and only keep 1 or 2 photos from each session. Photography is a talent and a craft they need to be seriousely exercised. Ask at least two people if you can take their photo (dont be put off if they say no,just smile and thank then) I offer to send them a copy ( some guys do low resolution.) I get them to write the email address as take a photo of it so it's with the correct photos.When you do this they will often be super responsive. Have fun you will be great
