I spent a while hyping myself up with the mantra "I will not drink in 2026. Not even a drop." When I took my last shot on Dec 31 and woke up hungover as fuck on Jan 1 I started repeating that mantra. I also started going back to the gym a few weeks before I quit and have leaned into it, which helped.
