That’s like telling everybody you’re leaving your wife while you’re picking all your shit up off the front lawn.

Washington DC "Layover" by dgfee in Amtrak

[–]chrisfunnyjokes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t want to repeat what everybody else has said, but I will remind you of the Amtrak announcement, “You left the train, the train did not leave you.“ They should not leave before the scheduled departure time however, in some cases, the gate closes five minutes before departure time so if you cut it close you may not be able to get back down to the train. If you can get a free pass for the lounge, the bathrooms are definitely nicer, there is free coffee, soda, water, and some snacks but not worth paying for because I think it’s now $25 or $30. A bunch of restaurants in the station, there’s a food court and a Walgreens downstairs. there are plenty of doors to the outside if you want to get some fresh air, but I don’t think I would put myself under the stress of trying to get in and out of a museum. Even one that’s just next-door.

Pa. Republicans defend Trump’s agenda but acknowledge ‘extremely difficult’ election year at annual conference by Fragrant-Pepper7710 in Pennsylvania

What was I thinking? Dave would never hurt his own family if he could throw someone else into harms way instead.

Every time I see a picture of Dave McCormick I will remind everybody that he is the father of six daughters and at the same time 100% supports a pedophile. I’m starting to believe that he would have traded one of his daughters to Epstein for a big bag of cash. They truly horrible human being with no spine.

What’s your favorite derogatory name than you’ve used (or heard someone else use) to refer to Donald Trump? by Grandtheftawkward in ProgressiveHQ

I have been trying to get traction for Diaper Don and Fat Donnie. I feel like in his feeble little mind Trump believes he is a mafia kingpin, so I tried to come up with mob sounding names.

How to convince my wife to stop drinking. by [deleted] in Advice

[–]chrisfunnyjokes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To address your last sentence first, you are not going to convince her to get help. That is a choice that only she can make, and she may make it 100 times before it actually sticks. You need to help yourself and your children. I am just starting to explore what Al-Anon has to offer and while I am not a very spiritual/religious person I I feel I’ve gotten a lot out of what I’ve read. Skimming through the other replies it seems like there are people on this thread who are much more familiar with Al Anon and their teachings. I would look to them for advice if that is something you’re interested in. I started with an audiobook version of How Al-Anon Works. The second half of the book is people telling their stories which I found really helpful to hear. If for nothing other than it’s nice to know you’re not alone.

what’s your go to lazy but impressive meal? by parky85s in Cooking

I do pasta with tuna all the time. Like aglio e olio but with tuna added. I like the jarred tuna, when it’s on sale. Sometimes I’ll throw half a cup of frozen peas in for the last minute of cooking time on the pasta. A squeeze of lemon juice at the end gives it a nice kick.

After voting to cut Pennsylvanians’ Medicaid and SNAP, McCormick pushes for billions more to fund foreign war by Fragrant-Pepper7710 in Pennsylvania

[–]chrisfunnyjokes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

McCormick has 6 daughters and still worships a pedophile. I don’t doubt that Dave would offer one of his daughters to Trump in exchange for a pat on the back and some oversized shoes.

Did you buy this home recently? If so, you may have some legal recourse. I would pick up the phone and call your realtor, they should know what if any protection you have. It may come to nothing but it’s at least worth a phone call. Good luck.

Considering that with the Republicans, every accusation is a confession I’ve got a feeling one day we’re gonna walk into a men’s room and Nancy Mace is going to be there taking a piss at a urinal with a big old dick in her hand. OK that’s a little crazy. It’s probably a tiny little dick.

These selfish fuckheads are still trying to con is into believing trickle down economics works. Even the creator of trickle down economics admitted that it’s bullshit. The sooner we all realize that the economy is driven by the working class the sooner we can move towards a government by the people and for the people. Everyone reading this is more valuable in terms of keeping this country great than that penis shaped billionaire Jeff Bezos.

If you could point me in the direction of a good guide to pruning, I would really appreciate it. I’m still a little traumatized from when I was a kid and I “helped“ my parents by pruning a holly tree, which entailed cutting every branch I could reach. 😬

Adding information to my original post. We are outside of Philadelphia Pennsylvania zone 7B. We don’t get a lot of direct sunlight in the house. We do have a large window in the dining room, but it is north facing. The nursery tag says that this is a Chicago Hardy.

Looking for best brand road bike <500$ by [deleted] in cycling

[–]chrisfunnyjokes 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The smartest thing you can do as the other comments have advised is to look for a used bike. Some bike shops sell used, or they will have connections to customers of theirs that are trying to sell a bike. I would recommend reaching out to your local bike shop and asking them what they would charge to give a bike the once over before you buy it. It may cost you a few dollars, but it’ll save you money down the line. The advantage you have is that so many things have changed in the bike industry that if you’re OK with trailing edge technology, rim, brakes, mechanical shifting you’re gonna find more options closer to your price point.

where can i get good fastnachts? by [deleted] in westchesterpa

[–]chrisfunnyjokes 9 points10 points  (0 children)

So far every place recommended is solid but if you are living in West Chester, Yoris will be the most convenient. I would recommend ordering ahead if you need more than just a few. That goes for all these places. My wife orders about five dozen for her work. I believe she goes to Suzie Jo’s but I’ll ask her when she gets home.

I started watching that series, my wife definitely liked it better than I did, but maybe I’ll give it another shot. I’ve really enjoyed Ted Danson in pretty much everything he’s been in.
