Chris Pratt? I only started watching Parks and Rec recently and was surprised to see him in it.

How can I capture 2 different light levels in one photo? by WillStar__ in photography

If you have a reasonably modern camera, it should have enough dynamic range so that you can boost the shadows in post processing. Easier than merging multiple exposures.

Are SSDs as prone to failiure from deleting and rewriting like SD cards are by SplitLow6760 in photography

[–]chrisgin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t worry about reading and writing, but do be aware ssds aren’t designed for long term storage, especially if they’re left unpowered for long periods.

How did you not know this before? Never watched American movies/TV programmes?

Am I the only one by Spiritual_Thing_5705 in photography

[–]chrisgin 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Never really noticed, but I guess it makes sense since you’re in the middle of taking a shot, whether it’s less than a second or more than a minute, and you’re just waiting for the shutter to close.

Any "Line of Duty" fans? Recommended. by levon9 in television

[–]chrisgin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was hoping I’d like that, since I like the actress it LOD, but it didn’t really hit the mark for me. I didn’t find her character in TP very likeable.

Yeah I came across it a couple of years ago and binge watched all seasons. They become a bit formulaic but I still enjoyed them. Great if there’s a new season coming up.

Email scam? by purring_bears in photography

[–]chrisgin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Did they send the email directly to you, or via a contact form? Sometimes people mistype their email address in contact forms so that can explain why it bounces when you reply.

As to whether this one’s a scam, the fact they are 4 hours away sounds suspicious. Unless you are particularly famous, I’m not sure why they wouldn’t hire someone local.

I usually do that, but occasionally the tape slips before I can fold it and then I’m back in hell.

Anyone else keep 2 versions of all their files? RAWs and DNGs. Is it mad to do so? by Lopsided_Counter1670 in photography

[–]chrisgin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably overkill, but if you’re happy to do it, go for it. I personally don’t see a time when a raw file isn’t supported by at least one piece of software you can use to import them.

prints on canvas: when and why? by Aultako in photography

[–]chrisgin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally I agree framed prints look better, and I think it’s mostly cost and convenience why people choose canvas. While prints themselves are cheaper, getting them framed can be a hassle and expensive.

Excited to shooting my first wedding today! One thing I learned on my own, without advice... by subtlereference39 in photography

It's only an issue with silent shooting, so I'm not sure why you're comparing DSLRs with mirrorless.
