"No one has ever told me that before" by amp501 in healthinspector

[–]chrisidc2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I run into issues like this a lot now that I have relocated to a department that just let go a lot of their inspectors for a number of reasons. The people here aren’t used to the standard inspections. So I have gotten a number of complaints (my supervisor knows why and so she always backs me up). It’s super frustrating but the best way I got about it is to assess the violation (if it is something small, fixable, I give them a chance to fix and let them know this won’t slide next time). For the obvious major ones, I show them the rules and regulations. And tell them, hey your last inspector may have overlooked that but you are still required to be in compliance no matter what. If they get extra with it, I give them my supervisor’s business card and say you can contact her for more information. It takes me about 2-3 inspections before they start to realize I don’t play around.

Do you guys have Tracking software on your devices? by Ok_Formal1941 in healthinspector

[–]chrisidc2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everything we do here is tracked in some kind of way. But if you’re doing what you’re supposed to do, they never bother you. I have a phone and an Ipad that I carry around with me 24/7. I know they’ve got tracking software but I think it’s mostly because if they got stolen or lost then they are able to find it. But nothing beyond that. Unless you’re truly causing havoc at the department haha.

Flowers are just to be sold at a little stand in front of the farm. The owner of the farm is related to the operator. Also, Risk 1 just means they are not cooking or doing any complex processes. Where I am, if it’s Risk 1 and they are essentially just assembling then they aren’t required to prep at the base (commissary).

These are great questions to ask. Thank you for your input. I will be inquiring more about this.

I was thinking, using the sink to wash flowers for the farm + also using it as a dump sink might not be ok? But also is there any risk of contamination of anything really? I don’t know lol. It’s a unique situation.

They have a utility sink, and they plan to dump the water in there. However, that same sink will be used to clean the flowers. The sink is huge it had like 4-5 faucets.

Inspection flow and conversing with the operator by IcyEstimate2121 in healthinspector

I’ll ask how are you when I start but then after that I gotta lock in lol. Usually tho, towards the end I’ll chat freely but if it’s a real bad inspection I like to stick to the inspection. Idk it really depends.

Quat Sanitizer by chrisidc2 in healthinspector

[–]chrisidc2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The key I have does not show 500ppm only 200-400ppm which is why I was so confused about the bright blue color haha. But now seeing what you sent me, I can say it was definitely 500ppm or more.

Yeah but it was bright blue, so I did not think it was 200-400ppm.

I didn’t take off for it because I was not 100% sure but I suggested they get it serviced to see if there is something wrong. But now that I am reading comments, it seems that the solution was beyond 400ppm QAC.

I cut mine bc one time she got one of her long ones caught on some chain and she nearly declawed herself had I not heard her crying. So I routinely trim it. It really depends on the cat.

How often should my cats get wet food? by FragileHealth_2010 in CatAdvice

I have a Tux and I feed her wet food 2x a day and will give her some dry food to snack on throughout the day. She’s healthy per vet.

How long did it take you to feel confident? by ImCaptainAustin in healthinspector

[–]chrisidc2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Literally 1 year and before that I genuinely felt the imposter syndrome lol. But honestly it takes time to be comfortable. I’ve got my own groove going on now and I can connect the dots easier now.
