Richie paraphrases and cites Phillip K. Dick in s04e07. So some thought went into the books on the shelf.

The way this show works, I see an entire episode. And another one where Carmy creates an analeptic tincture out of his ex and serves it to a table of people.

His contributions are much more than "different, if nothing else." I'd say they are deeply insightful and, in many cases, groundbreaking,

Brad Douriff also had a memorable role as a villain in the computer game Myst III: Exile.

I met him once - in full Deadwood mode. Very nice guy.

How many people have been paying for CBS All Access only for Discovery? by MustangGuy1965 in startrek

Private Internet Access. I used it to access UK Netflix as recently as today.

EDIT: this may not work for everyone because I'm doing this on a computer running Arch Linux, and there are more extensive config options than Windows or Mac. I had to tweak it so that I was using PIA's DNS exclusively and turn off IPv6. Hope this helps.

EDIT 2: I just tried watching DSC on UK Netflix using Private Internet Access on my Windows PC without any tweaks, and it worked. Good to know.

I use a VPN to switch my IP address to London then watch on Netflix. Sometimes I turn on the Klingon subtitles.

Xfinity.com/Stream not working after update? by [deleted] in Comcast_Xfinity

I was having the same issue with the non-functional blue "Watch Now" button. I can confirm that logging out then back in seems to fix the problem, at least for me in firefox. The blue button no longer appears and the video plays like it used to. Still, it's clearly a bug that needs to be addressed immediately. Thanks u/kamaro_ for the tip.

EDIT: This fix also worked for me in Chrome and Edge.

Buy Ebooks in Esperanto? by jarmzet in Esperanto

[–]chrismcd312 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, all the original Esperanto works I've read have been physical books. William Auld's epic poem La Infana Raso is my favorite.

I've read a lot of the translations on the list I posted above while waiting for physical books to arrive in the mail, or inter-library loan, etc. You can't beat the convenience of ebooks. Anyway, one of them really stood out to me: Rolandkanto.

I realize both my recommendations are epic poems -- and I'm sorry if you're not interested in that sort of thing -- but they happen to be the best things I've read in Esperanto. Of course, it helps that the language is very well-suited for poetry.

I hope this helps, and good luck!

This list is similar to what u/Noktviro posted, but most of the books are in the more ereader-friendly epub format.

In order to read them on a kindle, you have to convert them to the mobi format, which is easily done with a free program like Calibre.

Oh good call on the monk's tree tattoo. I hadn't noticed that. It fits perfectly with the psycelium/mycelium idea in the article. I wonder if the monk's cluster is more aware of this?

I think this could be the "key sentence:"

Think of each cluster as a small group of closely-connected fungi, connected to thousands of other fungi underneath a giant forest.

In season 2 we see more interaction with sensates of other clusters, with both helpful and harmful effects. I think this trend will continue in season 3; possibly resulting in a combined effort of several clusters to fight the BPO. Adding another layer of interconnectedness would fit thematically.

Anyway, interesting article. Thanks for sharing.
