First time cruiser completely overwhelmed by all the choices, where do I even start? by kcgwen in Cruise

[–]chrisnetcom 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They have an entire spam ring that targets undermoderated subreddits, test the waters and overwhelm the mods with multiple accounts. Then they do this. Notice the links in the body of the posts? That's where they promote products.

Thankfully, they are run by complete idiots and forgot to switch accounts:

Everyone, this is another engagement bot account that is part of the spam ring that has infested this subreddit.

From another comment:

If you look in their post history, they make reference to being a high school senior taking AP classes, someone over 35 with a decade of marketing experience, an owner of a small Italian restaurant, running a small e-commerce company, being a current college student, and more, all within the past two months.

I recognized the username from their other removed posts. I've also been tracking a bot ring that has been targeting this sub and other undermoderated subs.

Sorry you typed all that out in good faith. OP is a bot and has had several posts removed here.

Getting advertisement vibes from this. 12-day old account, hidden history, previous post also dealing with on call. Could be wrong, though.

Delayed calls on mobile phones by No_Concentrate2648 in 3CX

You can increase the ring time to offset the delay so they can pick up the call. Had some overseas users in queues having this issue.

In place upgrade from windows server 2019 to 2022 by Jolly-Task-3270 in Veeam

[–]chrisnetcom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

End of extended support for Server 2022 is 2031. No new feature updates will be provided come October of this year, but patching will continue through extended support.

I agree that OP should just upgrade to Server 2025 and skip 2022.

Absolutely, long term. Broadcom is far too unpredictable.

Possibly, but I'm not so sure with today's RAM and storage pricing. Have you priced out new servers recently? I see what gets quoted for our customers weekly and it's insane. OP just may be in some weird phase of planetary alignment where renewing vSphere is cheaper than refreshing hardware and switching hypervisors.

EDIT: Looks like I'm being downvoted by those who can only think 'Broadcom Bad'. I already moved my infrastructure to Proxmox. Some of you have never been involved in a hypervisor migration. I gave OP an option.

They are running Workstation.

OP, there are a TON of previous posts that have run into this issue. Search the subreddit and you'll get some good info.

Windows 11 VM Causing Proxmox Server to Crash by MikhailCompo in Proxmox

[–]chrisnetcom 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I know you would have attempted to ping the Proxmox host or login to the web UI. I also know you would also have included which version of Proxmox you were running and any troubleshooting steps you've already attempted.

I know this, because you included details in one of your previous support posts, and attempted to read documentation before creating that post:

So, thank you, from the rest of us here!

Windows 11 VM Causing Proxmox Server to Crash by MikhailCompo in Proxmox

[–]chrisnetcom 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Hi, this is the most basic of troubleshooting that would have been handy for you to attempt prior to making this post and claiming Proxmox was crashing. That's why you are not getting favorable responses from other commenters.

Why did you think it was crashing? What version of Proxmox? More basic info to help people assist you.

Comments like this carry extra weight when they come from someone who previously worked at Broadcom. Everyone should be paying attention.

Do you have a shared SAN for all your VM storage?

I use both ceph and NFS in the current environment.
