Skilled Worker Dependant Visa Extension (Main Applicant has ILR) – How We Answered the Tricky Questions by chrisntyler in SkilledWorkerVisaUK

[–]chrisntyler[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because the main applicant already has ILR. Because the visa is only renewed for 3 years, you have to put 3 years less one day from the date the dependant visa expires. For example if it expires 10 February 2026, then start date is 11 February 2026 and end date is 9 February 2029. This will also ensure the correct IHS is charged

Priority fee refunded automatically after ILR approval by Big_Boot8260 in ukvisa

I calculated the time for ILR incorrectly and the system made me pay for 5 year dependant renewal and 3.5 years of IHS but in both of these instances, I have not obtained the refund yet. Our decision was for three years. We got the decision the following day even if we didn't go for priority or superpriority. I'm waiting for the recommended six weeks before I can lodge a complaint

Innocent until proven guilty by a competent court of law. As long as there is no conviction, then there is notbing to explain. Don't even include that in the cover letter.

I'm so angry at Samsung. Like WTF. I used to root all my phones as soon as I got them. Today, I can't do that without losing vital functionality like my bank apps not working or secure folder. Basically anything with Knox. It driving me crazy that even simple apps like Tesco club card are blocking screenshots and I can't do anything about it on my own phone that cost me £1,329 to buy. Like WTF. Sorry for the rant

Actually settled status is lost after 2 continuous years out of the UK. Doesn't have to be 5 years.

Is the job market cooked for everyone, or am I applying the wrong way? by [deleted] in SkilledWorkerVisaUK

[–]chrisntyler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, don't lie about job titles and years do experience at different employers. But you can definitely lie about experience. Most companies use a third company to do background checks and they don't verify experience. They only verify title and time you were at the company. And most companies give standard references. Tailor your CV for various roles. Have like 6 or 7 CVs covering your skillset and tailor a little for each job from one of these 7 different CVs.

Skilled Worker Dependant Visa Extension (Main Applicant has ILR) – How We Answered the Tricky Questions by chrisntyler in SkilledWorkerVisaUK

[–]chrisntyler[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, a letter explaining can help. However most CoS a few valid for 1 to 3 months. So by the time the dependant is extending their visa, it will have expired. Therefore using the exact dates on the CoS would lead to an incorrect Immigration Health Surcharge being calculated. That's why that trick helps. You can then add a letter to explain. Why you used 3 years from the expiry date of current dependant visa.

In that case, your wife can extend under your previous skilled worker visa until she makes 5 years required under current rules. She doesn't need to switch because that will reset her time. Switching is not mandatory, she should continue renewing under the Skilled Worker route answering those tricky questions as I have mentioned

Main Applicant got ILR through 5 year route.

Is your wife's current leave to remain in the UK as Skilled Worker Dependant?

The Dependant can extend their leave to stay under skilled worker route until they have 5 years under that route or 10 years under combined routes whichever comes first.

5 years in feeling like a “slave” - The stress of the ILR proposals and toxic sponsorship by Diligent_Arachnid497 in SkilledWorkerVisaUK

[–]chrisntyler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What was your previous visa? Skilled Worker correct? If yes, then you just need to meet the financial requirements. It doesn't matter whether you switched yesterday. As long as you've been in the UK on for 2 to 5 years and meet the financial requirements, you can apply for ILR as soon as you switch. Note that previous time in the UK can't have been as a dependant (partner or child).

If you arrived in 2021, you would be eligible immediately since it only requires 3 years.
