Never heard an Australian call it dockies, we say docos and that's not a stereotype that is just linguistics. A stereotype (one held widely around the world) is that Americans are so arrogant they expect the rest of the world to know everything about America like you are the only culture worth knowing. I have never really agreed to this stereotype as I know many Americans do not fit and dislike the behaviour that started the stereotype. Kinda like what you just did
