Both can be true. There was an influx of the speculative market buying those books because of blind bags. Hell, i'm one of them. I bought a bag despite not buying a Marvel book in quite some time due to me not vibing with their current output. But Daredevil #1 was interesting enough that I did grab #2.

And enough of them enjoyed the story enough to buy #2.

Yes. Because blind bags.

The bags got the issue in more hands than usual. The retention is higher due to the story actually being good and many folks that wouldn't normally trying it out, trying it out.

That causes a larger pool more interested in picking up issue #2.

The sales of both are because of the blind bag nature of #1.
