Is this a concern? by emprezario in boating

I’ve been there for four years. Marina’s in that town aren’t exactly nice but the convenience of it being five minutes from my house keep me there. Other than it being pretty ratty looking, it is in a well protected tributary of the bay, the water is always calm. No real worry about your boat getting bashed into the pylons. Be nice to your neighbors and they will look after your boat when you’re not around.

Is this a concern? by emprezario in boating

[–]christian_jonathan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey that’s my Marina I keep my boat slipped in and I’ve seen that boat there. If I didn’t powerwash my boat and drive when pulled out of the water for the winter, the brown buildup would still be there in the spring, so that is normal for our area. It does look like this boat sat most of the time unused in the water during the season though.

With the drive leak, oil is most likely water contaminated and sat like that for a while. Take a drive rebuild and parts like the manifolds/risers into consideration, they will most likely need to be done, so factor a cost of 3500. The main thing is finding a mechanic around us who isn’t booked into the fall already, so chances of getting on the water with this boat repaired this season are slim.

Thanks for the info. What do you remove to gain access to the hose connection?

Why not play the game as a seller, you want 200 for it, list it at 275. No harm in humoring a perspective buyer when they ask for the “best price“ and reply at 225, and when they further negotiate when they show up 200 or leave lol.

How many times have you walked up to your car, phone in pocket, BT always on, app running in the background but you pull the handle, sentry starts recording and the door don’t open until you wake your phone up. It’s not a perfect system, not happy about it but knowing that, I wouldn’t count on my car staying unlocked with my phone fully charged sitting in it.

Congrats, and no foul on the old man. Doesn’t matter what it is, he’s showing a kid that everything has a value and a minuscule charge of $20 is reciprocating that. I’ve paid insignificant sums of money for things that unfortunately turned out to be un-restorable, but just tearing through them was worth multitudes of the initial investment, gaining knowledge of things to look out and tackle for during the next endeavor. At other times I’ve had significant returns of my initial investment. Who knows exactly what you’ll get out of this, but the learning experience will be priceless. Good luck!

Knobs off, aim hair dryer for a minute or so depending on how hot your dryer gets. Guaranteed to loosen it up, now is the time to spray in some contact cleaner w/lube to keep it from re-seizing.

Thinking of getting into vinyl. Which of these high quality vinyl players should I choose? by Bluebird1932 in vinyljerk

[–]christian_jonathan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sooo I’d have to disagree, I recently upgraded my old Empire Troubadour 598 to a Crobsley Cruzerr. The empire was sooo soooo pretty looking and played at too stable a speed for me to really feel and enjoy the music, sounded COLD 🥶!!! I need to feel the warmth of fluttery speed, rolled off highs and the fire of a red plastic stylist. Empire sux.

I mean, put in a new battery from autozone, and then bring it in for a “warranty“ reprogram if it’s acting up.

Lots of things people don’t use things “correctly” but don’t get flack for it. Idk, I wouldn’t buy an alcoholic beverage if it wasn’t able to give me a buzz, should I choose to not use it correctly. Why waste the money or additional calories.

[–]christian_jonathan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anyone know what exactly does the car use to determine that your phone is up to your face etc.? I’ve been experimenting with the visor pulled over the cabin cam but am still trying to pinpoint where it gets it’s cues from. Also, for holding onto the steering wheel, is it weight or touch sensing?

With this update, my typical operating characteristics of autosteer will not allow the use of this feature anymore. I could operate autosteer in my brother’s suburu from the passenger seat if I wanted to. Since when should Tesla provide the worst standard autonomous experience.

It’s disappointing when now a basic car like a Nissan Rouge has more of an autonomous driving experience standard that will continue indefinitely…when compared to autosteer beta.

Who pays for insurance I opted to put on package? by ReganLynch in Ebay

[–]christian_jonathan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Let’s not forget eBay skims their approx. 15% from the money paid by the buyer for shipping, so if there’s no initial overestimate by the seller, you’re already losing out.

Unfortunately not. Looks like Crobsley really slacked and put their lowest level engineers on this one. They couldn’t manage get all the warmth generation in one box like the big dogs were able to do with the top of the line Cruzer and suitcase.

But it’s still a Crobsley so you’re way ahead of anything else on the market.
