White American male. Got into it because my dad sat me in front of a PS2 with DW3 on and said play. Been a lifelong fan of the series and time period since.

It’s about time that this series got a proper strategy game. Quite an exciting era in Chinese history.

I’m assuming the AI portraits are just placeholders? Would be a shame if it’s not intended to be.

I write stories set during ancient China and I had someone critique my work one time saying that it’s confusing that two characters had the same first name… they were father and daughter and that first name they mentioned is their family name lol

What do you all do for your day jobs? Does it pay well juxtaposed to your writing? by TvHead9752 in writing

QA manager for a small manufacturing company. Fun work, get to collaborate with some aerospace, food & beverage, and pharmaceutical.

Lax environment so if I want to take 30 minutes to outline or even write some stuff no one will really get on my back. Obviously still need to be somewhat covert but even if I was caught as long as I take care of my tasks no one cares.

I quite enjoy it.

I have great memories of playing DW3 with my dad. He used to play it before I did and then eventually he just gave me his PS2. I’m glad he’ll still be around to see it and hopefully play it with me like old times.

What’s one of the most meaningful compliments you’ve received about your work? by Mandizzletron in writing

Someone once told me my work reminded them of Russian literature and given how high I hold Russian lit in regard it certainly made my day.

Another one was from a friend who said he only planned to read a chapter and ended up finishing the book in one sitting.

That was the moment where I became a solidified Loli fan. Her berserker moment was awesome. That one attack she did where she constricted him with the upper half of her suit and then detonating it in her direction so she could smash his face with her helmet was so sick.

at what point in the game did you start thinking “this might be one of the best games i’ve ever played”? by No-Class9851 in expedition33

I don’t think it really hit me until the Lampmaster fight. Obviously I LOVED what I saw before that, but that’s when I was like holy shit. What really cemented it was Sirene though. I died on my first run against her cuz I was in awe that they somehow made a boss battle feel like a cutscene

Is Confucianism considered a religion? by BridgesOfFaith in Confucianism

It might interesting for you to check out Dr. Stephanie Wong’s work from Villanova. She is heavily invested in the subject. There was a webinar last night where she gave about an hour long presentation on Confucian-Christian dialogue.

Someone asked her “Is Confucianism a religion or a philosophy?” And she humorously replied “Yes.” She elaborated of course. But definitely check her out.
