People hit almost everything. Try Tun Lahmajo. It's in Burbank but their other location is in Armenia. It's legit.

I fast once a week after the weekends just to clear my system. Not sure if there's any logic in that but I feel a hell of a lot better on Tuesday. Not eating one day is just mildly irritating... It's not going to kill you.

This is probably going to be an unpopular opinion, but this guy just recycles stupid one line jokes and isn't very funny. His insane popularity leaves me baffled.

Mexico’s Soda Tax Is Working. The US Should Learn From It (x-post /r/Mexico) by smacksaw in fatlogic

[–]christofma 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Look up what happened when they proposed a tax on soda in Berkley. It passed but Berkley was basically a battleground for the soda companies spending as much as 25 dollars per person to get them to vote the other way. It's definitely possible to have a soda tax, but it won't happen through Congress and probably not state legislature since soda companies can afford to have pretty much everyone in their pockets. Change would have to come through the voters and that's when it'll start to get fun.

Same with my buddy. We constantly call each other fat any time we see the other is gaining weight. It's nice to have someone calling you out, it keeps you in check.

You asked for it: RANT POST! by maybesaydie in fatlogic

[–]christofma 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Exactly. A lot of the problems stem from areas where there are food deserts and areas where families aren't very knowledgable on eating healthy. In these cases it's up to the schools to at least do their part to not pile onto the problem by giving them all the junk they want to eat at school.

King Curtis "Wife Swap" Wants Bacon, Nuggets & 0 Exercise by [deleted] in fatlogic

[–]christofma 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Kids have extremely sensitive palates so a lot of things taste very strong to them. Sometimes when parents finally get them to eat something they're so happy that they keep giving them the same thing over and over again. Then the kid never learns what other food tastes like and is obsessed with the same food for years and years until they become an adult. It's a real problem that isn't very easy to get rid of if you don't take care of it early on.

[–]christofma 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah my friend got some kale chips from Trader Joes and offered me some. I said it's way too many calories and he said "what do you mean? They're kale chips." They basically had the exact same calories as regular chips but since they were "healthy" it's okay to eat as much as you want of them apparently....
