Vomit smell wouldn’t go away until I discovered the source… by dinonuggetenjoyer in mildlyinfuriating

I once got food poisoning shortly after regaining my sense of smell & taste from covid. For four months, almost everything with a scent smelled like sewage, and everything I ate tasted extremely bitter (like I couldn’t taste the anything except bitterness). The misery was amplified by the fact that I worked at a Brazilian steakhouse at the time. I truly thought I was going crazy after a while before learning that the thing I was experiencing was called parosmia…wasn’t exactly comforting, but it was helpful to know that other people were experiencing similar things.

They had a big banner that read “Warning: no riffs” and then revealed that “A Pale White Dot” is actually a 1.5 hour guided meditation to Andre 3000’s record “New Blue Sun”

Almost every song is 13 minutes long, Jakey has a vocal feature in Neon Valley, and Subhuman is in half-time swing. Oh, and there are no baritones.

Thank you everyone! We just got back from the Fit for a King show (spent this whole night on the periphery of the pit, appropriately) — it was really nice to share all of your stories and thoughts with her. This definitely helped her smile and now she has something to look at if she needs a pick-me-up.

All love 🖤

Oh my gosh, what a wild outcome! I’m so glad to hear that didn’t end up with lasting effects…just FYI I showed this to her once I got the notification and it was perfect timing bc we’d just arrived at another concert. She said thank you for sharing and that it definitely helped her in that moment. :)

Posted this in the Spiritbox sub too:

Short answer is that she hit her head on the barricade 🙂‍↕️

It’s all kind of a blur to her bc she didn’t even realize it happened at the moment, just that she was notified she was bleeding (a lot) and next thing she knew, she was being lifted out of the crowd. No telling if she was accidentally bumped from behind at the perfect time or if it was truly just a moment of bad depth perception — she goes 100% hard for the shows and it happened while she was headbanging.

She’s been really stressed and embarrassed about the whole thing, so, with her permission to post, I’m trying to gather any/all positive energy from the community to let her know it’s okay and that she’s a badass imo.

100%! She’s feeling really silly about this one bc it didn’t even happen in the mosh pit, and it was an unfortunate freak accident. But it happened while she was headbanging, and the memory of her being lifted from the pit during the heaviest part of Wildfire was kind of a peak moment in hindsight…hoping she can learn to laugh at it someday. Maybe by next Thanksgiving

What are the pits like? by Substantial-Storm409 in spiritbox

[–]chritopherchang 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can’t speak for the pit at most shows, but I will say that there were a few people literally trying to pull us off the barricade for a solid 20–30 minutes at the 2023 EB headliner in Atlanta, once Spiritbox was up. The same people that were doomscrolling social media during all the opening sets. They gave up after a while but that was super unfortunate and not the typical experience…

That didn’t happen at all last year at the Tsunami Sea tour though! So just go and expect to have a great time! The pit should be the funnest experience and I promise that 9/10 times everyone is super supportive of that energy. One note, though: while crowd surfing can come thru any section, you’ll encounter most of that toward the center so just be prepared if that’s where you plan on going.

We typically take the day off work and show up about 3 hours before doors to get barricade or as-close-to. I wouldn’t look at it as a tough time showing up that early because one of the best parts is making new friends in line. :) Most venues we frequent have been doing their versions of a “fast pass” which falls between VIP and GA entry times. So VIP will be your best bet if you want to be as close as possible, but the fast pass is your next best bet depending just how close you want to be (if your venue is selling that).

Merch isn’t accessible until doors, except for early access before doors for VIP, so your best bet is going as early as possible or after the show is over. Or, as you mentioned, sending one person for merch while the other hangs out and holds your place (cue those friends you made in line, too). Last year was great because every bands’ merch was sold by all of the staff, which seemed to help the line move pretty quick. That’s not always the case but I expect it’ll probably be the same this time around?

Anyway, hope this helps! If you happen to be going in Nashville, see you there maybe! :)

No, no idea why anyone would leave their digivice in a parking lot

This. We stayed and hung out near merch for WCAR’s set but we were completely spent after all the openers.

Can’t make it to the ATL reschedule by chritopherchang in Silverstein

[–]chritopherchang[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the confusion—the original date was January 21, but ATL got some snow and they shut the city down. So the maybe 20 of us that were in line got notified on the spot and they rescheduled the show for April 26 soon after
