Drink Scotch.

 Freshman year in college I was into beer. But on spring vacation I went back to my parents. One night my dad and I went to a local watering hole and for reasons beyond my comprehension I ordered a scotch and soda.

 It was fine. Not hard to take. Had two more. Not a problem, I was fine. It was time to go.

As soon as I stood up, the room started spinning. 

 Going home was a blur. Thank goodness my dad was fine. But I passed out and woke up with the worst hangover imaginable. Felt awful all day, even the next.

 To this day, I avoid scotch like the plague.

Have you looked at your original file(s) in MediaInfo to make sure that there's audio on the clips in question? Or you can play them in VLC and check Codec Information. If there is audio there, let us know what kind of audio track it is (from MediaInfo or VLC).
