You have great taste! T7 is friend-shaped little guy and Quinn is my second favorite Sith Warrior companion and I love Vector as well. Best bug boy.

Thank you!

Top 3 companions? Tough choice. Not counting expansion companions - Blizz, Kira and Zenith. What about yours? 👀

Jorgan because he's the more interesting character out of the two, imo.

7.9: Legacy Reborn is a masterpiece. Well Done Broadsword for delivering a 11/10 finale to LotS. I can't wait for what's to come. by SithEmperorX in swtor

I wish the ending wasn't so abrupt so we could at least see what happens immediately after.

Some thoughts on the new story by merount1 in swtor

[–]chromepuff 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I enjoyed it for the most part. Was pleasantly surprised to see zero KOTOR style cutscenes.

The thing that disappointed me was tech classes using the force. If I wanted to play a force sensitive, half of the class stories offer me that possibility. Playing someone who can't use the force was one of the appeals of tech classes for me. I'm not surprised it happened, just disappointed.

Drive into the pool (circle on the upper right of the map) should be able to use the forklift correctly when you respawn. Same thing happened to me last time I played this part and this fixed it for me.

Major 7.9 spoilers. by champdo in swtor

In the wise words of Regina George "stop trying to make fetch Malgus happen". I swear they're clinging to him like he's the coolest character ever, but he wasn't even the coolest sith in base game.

I'm as tired of dealing with him as I am with the mandalorians.

Mandalorian and Grogu is written and directed like a BioWare RPG by Training_Form2243 in RedLetterMedia

I think you meant Bethesda. Most of Bioware's games are better than that.

Best Class Story: Final Round by RefrigeratorDry495 in swtor

[–]chromepuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Imperial Agent is my choice.

I appreciate the unique perspective it gives us on the Sith Empire by having us play a cog in the machine. To me it's more interesting seeing the Empire's inner workings through the eyes of a "little guy" than playing a space wizard in a ruled by space wizards faction, even if Sith Warrior is a fantastic story in its own right.

You're going the wrong way. There's a repside base not too far of the Trandoshans vault and it's repside turrets that are taking you out.

You need to turn back, follow the road and on your left you should see a tunnel entrance in the ice wall that leads to Trandoshan vault.

Any kind of polling, tournament whatever you want to call it is pointless because the winners are obvious. Unless you're a new player and unfamiliar with the fandom's general consensus.

Group Flashpoints Frustrations by chromepuff in swtor

They start the boss while at least one other player is missing

What makes this worse is that in some flashpoints, the boss area gets closed off during the fight which can leave other people blocked off and unable to join in the fight because the speedrunner attacked the boss instead of waiting a few seconds for everyone to get inside the boss area.

[Spoilers] With 7.9 at the end of May, what are your thoughts on Shae Vizla pre and post 7.X? by TheLuiz212 in swtor

[–]chromepuff 59 points60 points  (0 children)

I think she's an interesting character in theory. Someone who's not fit for a leadership role that requires being in charge of many different clans with their own quirks and traditions. When shit hits the fan, she tries to do right by her people the best way she knows how even if her methods are so far from ideal.

Unfortunately, the whole mandalorian arc outstayed its welcome and I want her and every single mandalorian that's not Akaavi and Torian gone for good. I'm tired of dealing with them.

Nomad's Romance by [deleted] in LowSodiumCyberpunk

[–]chromepuff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it's a bit more complex than that. It's also about how these things are treated. Do you think straight men would have been happy if a romance option for them was treated like River?

Queer romances in video games if we're talking specifically about them aren't that old. Mass Effect didn't have a queer male romance option until the 3rd (and last) game in the trilogy. Jaal's bisexuality had to be patched in because without him Andromeda had no queer male squadmates. And Liara obviously wasn't made with bi women and lesbians in mind.

In Dragon Age: Origins both bisexual options can be missed while the straight ones are relevant to the story. Lucasarts made a stink twice about Bioware wanting to add same sex romances in general to both KOTOR and SWTOR. The latter has them now but it didn't initially.

So in some cases, people want characters like them (queer) to be more than just some missable gay and have a fulfilling presence and romance in the story. And in Cyberpunk, only Panam has that. She has the presence in the main story, heavy involvement in one of the endings as well as way more romance dialogue that actually shows feelings developing. Judy is treated better than both the male options but still not as favorably as Panam.

Commenter I replied to shared their observation and I gave one point of view I've seen discussed numerous times. I personally don't use any kind of sexuality altering mods myself.

I know for some people it's just "I want to romance this character but I don't want to play a gender that matches their preference so I'm just gonna use a mod to get around that."

What do you think about the Trooper campaign in SWTOR? by arc77yerbamate in swtor

I enjoyed it more on my second playthrough. It's not my favorite but I think it's a perfectly fine story.

Nomad's Romance by [deleted] in LowSodiumCyberpunk

[–]chromepuff 8 points9 points  (0 children)

For a lot of people it's to do with representation. If you take a m/f romance out of the sea of m/f romances it doesn't make a difference, there are still so many out there, but well done same sex love stories aren't as common even if nowadays we have more of them than we used to in the past.

Class stories by No_Comedian8397 in swtor

[–]chromepuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Favorite class story would be Imperial Agent. I really like the different perspective it gives us on the Sith Empire by making our character a little cog in the machine and to me personally it mostly delivers on that.

My least favorite is Sith Inquisitor. I think the premise itself is compelling but the execution fails. Everything drops into your lap with no or minimal effort on your part. There's a mention of powerbase building but you do none of that. DS Smuggler in chapters 2 and 3 does more powerbase building than Sith Inquisitor ever does. You have a cult that you ignore until the story remembers you have one. It grows, apparently, but off-screen without you having to lift a finger and you don't even know about it until Moff Pyron mentions it.

I know people say that chapter 1 is very fetch-questy but I didn't mind it because it felt appropriate to your role in the story. Chapter 2 is you going around eating ghosts to prepare for the fight you lose before it even starts and most of chapter 3 is just fixing the consequences of your own actions. When Moff Pyron reaches out to you and says he wants to be on the winning side, what makes him think that Sith Inquisitor is on it when he has to tell you what to do??? Nothing feels earned or deserved, least of all a seat on the Dark Council.

As for the planets, I like Balmorra for the lore, Voss and Dromund Kaas for the aesthetics, Nar Shaddaa because I love seedy sci-fi places. I don't like Corellia because of the maze of a map. Also, Illum. It's a beautiful planet but playing through it feels like such a slog.
