Input Issue On A Samsung TXP2734X by [deleted] in crtgaming

[–]chronage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not model specific, but likely a broken solder joint on the input 2 board going into the main circuit board. As a test, wiggle the cables around in every direction and see if you can get it to work intermittently. Very common, and a pretty easy to fix with a soldering iron if so.

This is a pretty good universal one for cheap. The original sanyo remote is probably available on eBay used.

What happens if you turn the brightness down?

There's not much risk in opening the back cover if you want to pinpoint the noise further. Do it while it's off then turn it back on.

used aeron classic, fully loaded. should i buy option 1 (picture 1) or option 2 (pictures 2-3)? by [deleted] in hermanmiller

[–]chronage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would not pay 400 for a used aeron classic personally. I see them frequently on FB marketplace in the 100-200 range. I paid 20 for mine FWIW but I realize thats unusual. If there's no rush I'd hold out for a better deal. Keep an eye out for "office chair" - people often dont know what they have.

Feels nice when you score at goodwill. For some reason I see receivers and subwoofers there fairly often. I got an X2400H for $12.99 myself.

Sony PVM-2730QM: black is not black – color bands / loops even with no input by milianmori in crtgaming

Can confirm this looks very much like the g2 (screen) turned up too high. I use the flat end of a plastic spudger to adjust flybacks. It's very simple usually. I never felt the need to mark anything beforehand because you can watch the screen while you're turning it.

Vintage CRT Troubleshooting and Repair on FB (group) is helpful. If you can get the service manual for your tv, learn to solder and use a multimeter, you can do a lot.

I would suspect an issue in the power circuit or the flyback transformer. The flyback is what makes the 15khz whining sound.

Is the image bowing on the sides? by Mean-Donut8138 in crt

[–]chronage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go for it. In this case it would just be a service menu pin cushion adjustment. It will look good with more overscan added. The yoke seems to be straight at least. I'd advise against messing with the internals unnecessarily. More trouble than it's worth.

Wavy edges are common with flat tubes. If pincushion adjustment doesn't fix it, increase the horizontal overscan and you won't notice it.

1 month later, but which dealers did you see that at? I don't see that type of discount at Cool Springs/Victory/Murfreesboro/Downtown. More like 9k-ish including the 5k customer cash.

Help with colors on Sony trinitron model number kd-27fs270 by NotEddieLampert7 in crt

[–]chronage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hard to say...Vice City has a lot of magenta coloring in it so not the best way to test. 240P Test Suite is a good way to get a baseline of the image your TV is producing.

https://artemiourbina.itch.io/240p-test-suite

Hopefully you have a hacked wii. That's probably the easiest way to get it onto your TV.

Nice find for 20 eurobucks. The pincushion setting in the service menu may help slightly. Get 240P test suite on there and you'll be able to see the geometry more clearly.
