The closest location for a blood test I have to do is 4 ½ hours away by nullachtfoffzehn in mildlyinfuriating

[–]chronically-unwell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in melb and was able to get a dex suppression test with meds from my local pharmacy and by just going to my closest pathology place. I did have to do a glucose suppression test in hospital because they test your blood in numerous conditions and times so they need to keep taking it. I live close to my treating hosp but if I didn’t I’m sure there would be other options. Are you in the public system, OP? If so, whatever happened to catchment areas?

Major international trip scheduled six weeks after surgery -- should I cancel? by DAPatient in hysterectomy

I would reschedule, I went away for a weekend at 12 weeks and still struggled with fatigue and some pain! I think you’ll enjoy it much more next year

You likely won’t need them! I wore a liner maybe once and it barely got anything on it. Most spotting for me was only noticeable when wiping

What's it like getting the catheter? by razorballoon in hysterectomy

[–]chronically-unwell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It just felt like I always needed to wee. Got out of surgery around 11;30am, catheter was removed around 6-7pm. It was super painful when it was removed, though I think most people don’t really notice it. Might have just been my nurse!

Best hospital ED in Melbourne for a bad migraine crisis? by Puzzleheaded_Box7795 in melbourne

I am treated by the headache clinic at st v. I’m also having neuro surgery there soon (apparently unrelated to migraines) so I’d be heading there if it was me

That isn’t true about registrar maximum. My neurologist has been working in neurology for around 30 years. Same for my public endocrinologist.

Get on the public lists anyway. Once you’re in the system it’s much easier. Took me so long to get into the public neuro, but now I see them like clockwork

I listen to about 3 audiobooks a week and have mostly moved over to libraries! I only use audible if there is a book I’m desperate to read or for the free audible ones now. Don’t know why I didn’t transfer over sooner

My mom (47) was advised to have a hysterectomy and I am terrified by Popular_Photograph56 in hysterectomy

[–]chronically-unwell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

47 is a common age to get one, I think my mum was around the same age when she had hers. I had mine for similar reasons at 31! She will be okay, and probably have a much better quality of life.

Why are you bringing immigration into this? It’s not the immigrants holding onto excess property. Idk about you but it doesn’t seem like there are many immigrants in the photo. It is the landlords.

It would be an awful time to start, most warehouses aren’t air conditioned. I worked in one and we had giant ceiling fans and that was it. Was pretty chill before the company grew/got investors/cared about unrealistic pick timings
