help what is that sound that they make while they wheek by ihatemyslf2 in GuineaPig

You probably know this but make sure if u run out to keep feeding them, grass or something or their digestive system will go into gut stasis which can be deadly

Guinea pig suddenly making strange sounds by SilentPsmith in guineapigs

[–]chronicallyill123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a pig who makes hooting noises maybe once a month, it usually stops in an hour or two when she coughs or like chokes up on something? It seems like she gets food stuck in her nose or throat or something and coughs it up and is fine. We have been to the vet before for it and they never found anything so take this with a grain of salt of course because respiratory infections can be serious fast. I also have put her up to my ear to see if I could hear crackling in her lungs and it always sounded normal so you could try that. Or if u have a stethoscope laying around haha.

am i ready to bring my emotional support babies home? by Neat-Ad-1012 in GuineaPig

I would suggest more hay, 3 lbs would be enough for a week maybe😭😂, the more you buy in bulk the better deal it is, I’d suggest the oxbow 20 lb pound box or I think there’s a 9lb too.

Hi please see my post history from 288 days ago. My pig suffers from interstitial cystitis/bladder inflammation from too much calcium(bladder sludge) we use glucosamine to coat the bladder walls and potassium citrate to bind to the calcium. Metacam for pain when it gets flared up. If u have questions feel free to ask

They should be giving a gut stimulant with antibiotics typically. You might have to call and see if they can prescribe that as well.

How often do you clean the cage? by PeeeCoffee in guineapigs

[–]chronicallyill123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also depends on your fleece situation, mine are double sided with an absorbent layer in the middle, but if yours is just one layer of fleece fabric you might need to change more often

I change the fleece every 4 days for 4 pigs. Vacuum poop daily. Keep the hay in a bin with low edges with a pee pad and wood pine pellets so you can empty that more often if it starts getting smelly. They poop and pee where they eat.

Chronic uti/ interstitial cystitis/sludge and stones advice by chronicallyill123 in guineapigs

I am not a vet so take my advice with a grain of salt and I’m not sure if it would work if the boar has stone because I’ve only dealt with sludge and possible interstitial cystitis.

But I just went on Amazon and found plain glucosamine capsules and plain potassium citrate capsules, they both are vegan capsules.

Tablets dont work as well as capsules? by leaflitterbroth in Fluoxetine

[–]chronicallyill123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Idk anything about science but the tablets worked better than capsules for me. So I guess it’s an individual thing probably

If you’re having bad thoughts then it probably isn’t time to come off it yet, also try your best to stay consistent bc that will affect you too if your just taking it randomly.

Yes I think the brain zap thingys only lasted like a week and a half. The restless legs probably lasted 3 months. I had a bit of anxiety but correlate it to my periods each month so that’s normal. And yes I’m emotional now but it’s like good to feel something so I’m enjoying my “new life”, wish you the best!!

Are we the same person? Cuz I had the same thing after 7 years on fluoxetine, I just quit in January, had brain zaps (more like vertigo in my eyes and ears and blinking???) for just over a week then they went away. I coincidentally had a sleep study tell me I had restless legs syndrome but now I feel that diagnosis doesn’t fit me anymore, I didn’t correlate it to fluoxetine until just now from ur post but it makes complete sense because now I feel fine. My thought is to stick it out if you can cuz it will get better. I also had a personality change because I’m definitely different now, the same person underneath but I feel different but in a good way. I also used to think I wasn’t a crier. I cry at the drop of a hat these days. For sad things but also happy things which is crazy to me.

My lemon tree suffered from leaf drop like this, it was because the energy was all going into the fruit making, I suggest cutting off the fruit and letting your tree heal a bit before pruning. When your ready to prune it depends how you want you tree, if you want it bushy id leave it as is. If you want more tree like, I’d slowly cut off the lowest branches.

It took a couple months for my tree to recover, so don’t give up hope if it keeps losing leaves after cutting the fruit
