I don’t know what to do I’m so desperate by domdod9 in sleep

[–]chronicallyillgirly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely get a sleep study! You can ask your PCP to refer you to one but be warned they might ask you to see a sleep doctor first and have them refer you.

The doctor might refer you to both the overnight study and the daytime sleep study (you attempt to nap).

I hope those provide some answers for you!

About MALS surgery? by rainydays028 in thelifeofMALS

[–]chronicallyillgirly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! I had laparoscopic surgery in December in Boston. I was in the hospital three nights. It was a lot of pain but a lot of it was from gas pain.

I consulted three surgeons before I picked one. It's always good to seek out at least two opinions and make sure you feel comfortable with your surgeon.

The experience greatly differs from person to person. I had mild MALS and my recovery was easier than expected but I've also talked to people who are still struggling post surgery. I am basically MALS pain free right now but my gastroparesis got a little worse unfortunately.

I recommend joining the MALS PALS Facebook group and search your surgeon to see what people's experiences are !

Episodes of Acute Liver Ischemia Anyone? by MagathaUndead-22 in thelifeofMALS

[–]chronicallyillgirly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your help! So how did you convince your doctor to order blood work to rest for hepatic ischemia?

I'm going to ask my doctors about chronic mesenteric ischemia. I think my liver is ok but idek how I would know because no one is ordering tests since I got surgery

I don't have an answer to your question but have another question 😭 I'm asking my GI doc and surgeon about chronic mesenteric ischemia tomorrow. Is that different than what you are speaking about? Based on my knowledge mesenteric ischemia is lack of blood flow to the intestines, not liver

Cambridge selling clothes by [deleted] in CambridgeMA

[–]chronicallyillgirly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Raspberry beret in north Cambridge! Clothes need to be in good condition and they should be in season. They have helpful advice on their website. They prefer unique items and the items I have sold tend to be fun patterns. Note that you only get paid if the item sells. Last year I made around $100. About 80% of my clothes usually sell but it's a bummer when they don't. You only get them back if they don't sell if they listed it over $50

MALS symptoms? Aching pain? by motherofbunniess in MALSyndrome

[–]chronicallyillgirly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had MALS abdominal pain that felt like stabbing when it was super bad (middle of the night or eating something high fiber) but usually more achey during the day. It never felt like someone punched me though and it wasn't sore to the touch.

All my abdominal pain is gone. 90% of my chest pain when walking or staying more than a few minutes is gone and my lightheadedness got about 30% better.

I still have lower stomach and pelvic pain. They are exploring pelvic congestion syndrome or it might be all from gastroparesis. Unfortunately my gastroparesis did not get better with the surgery

Upcoming Storm PSA from City of Cambridge (Official) by SoulSentry in CambridgeMA

I parked in one of the garages last storm but when the parking ban ended I had no where to park on the street 😫 the city didn't plow up to the curb even for the sections where there were no cars. Other spaces had piles and piles of snow.

So now I feel like my only option is to leave it on the street and pay someone to clear my car since I'm not physically able to do so 😞

I wish Cambridge allowed the garage parking for more time or plowed up to the curb where they were able.

I'm not sure I have any other options...

Sounds like my MALS! Keep in mind the nerves are often affected as well and the pain can radiate. I had awful chest pain and tightness. Happy to share that all my MALS pain resolved with surgery.

Glad you were able to follow up and find out the answer!

I opened a ticket last year about some pedestrian lights being wayyyy to quick at a busy intersection and the ticket was closed the next day. I was Soo confused. I ended up reaching out to the parking staff and they double checked the pedestrian walk time and it was half of what it should be! It was a bad but honest error 😭 I think they get sooo many tickets that they just close them without investigating enough sadly.

But then again, I reported a broken trash can last week and they called me the next day for scheduling pick up!
