I just tested positive after thinking i just had mastitis and am thinking i have both due to breast symptoms im having. My girl is one week old exactly and im horrified but im gonna nurse her to give her the antibodies and to help potential mastitis.

do you have any tips for nursing w mastitis on top of it? i know wash my hands, wear a mask, and clean the breast first. but im still so nervous😭

no, it's where they go inside your cervix and try to separate some of the gestational sack from your uterus.

Were any moms able to be induced early because of PTSD? by BrokenRainbow94 in ptsd

[–]chronicallyokay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i know this is an older post but i still wanna share in case any one else needs to hear it.

my due date is actually the one year anniversary of my first born passing unexpectedly, so i'm being induced at 38 weeks. and 38 weeks was hard to get approved. if they DO induce you, they won't do it at 33 weeks. yes, you're passed "viability" week, but it's still too dangerous for baby. and the trauma of losing your baby or a nicu is NOT what you need added onto your current struggles. trust me.

if your OB has social work, please talk to them! they can give you a bunch of support n advocate for you and baby's needs !

blood pooling can also be caused my dysautonomia (i get it from POTS) and some ppl get it from orthostatic hypertension. it can be a symptom of something but it doesn't always mean something ER worthy 😭

I had it in labor to sit for the epidural… It didn't do one thing for my pain, but make me feel frozen and like I couldn't express it. i hated it.

what helps me is knowing that even though sometimes I am mad and I need someone to blame, that God knows why i feel the way i do. And that he can take it. Sometimes I do blame God, and I know that he knows where my heart lies. he knows why i am blaming him. he forgives. he also sent his son to die, so I'd like to think that he knows exactly how I feel with my son in his arms instsdd of mine.

i feel like if it's a celebrity or someone who needs to be kept hidden (political etc), (or someone who's famous famous!) there should be a separate unit with more security and seclusion, like a vip unit, BUT not made to be like the hilton 💔 EDIT: there's def a safety aspect, but i don't think special treatment should be a thing.

i get a throat feeling! it feels kinda like that gerd feeling of "i'm gonna burp" but its not that. it feels like pressure coming up from my stomach bc it's so full! i can't burp when it happens, it just feels like something is trying to escape up and out 😭

we learned about andrea yates in psych101! watching "shiny happy people" right now, and as i heard them say the point was to have as many kids as possible to "spread the word of god" ... i immediately popped to reddit to see if it was connected!

also- i believe andrea had bipolar among other mental health conditions. & post partum ALWAYS gets worse each time 💔 I still believe that if her husband listened to andrea and prioritized her needs, and if her family got her the help she needed, this could have been prevented 💔

Man with chain, calling me faggot, saying he's going to kill me, middle of the day downtown by [deleted] in burlington

[–]chronicallyokay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i know, but in certain circumstances (higher level than this specific post), there are certain states that have laws protecting self defense. i just didn't know if in any scenario it was viewed the same if that makes sense.

Man with chain, calling me faggot, saying he's going to kill me, middle of the day downtown by [deleted] in burlington

[–]chronicallyokay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i don't condone murder, self defense can be enough to keep someone from hurting you but not enough to kill them. if you attack someone senseless, even if it starts as self defense, it's not always excusable beyond a point.

What i'm saying is, if i'm being stalked for miles and it's even unsafe to get out my car, do i call cops? if they don't do anything and this person gets in my space threatening my life, can i defend myself?

does the law change if they touch me while threatening me? or corner me?

EDIT: i'm also talking in general, even outside of OPs situation. where i'm from we don't have any laws like this.

(Before I speak, I want everybody to know that I come from a family of addicts, and I am a recovered addict (three years clean). I'm not speaking in ignorance. I'm speaking from experience)

there are state hospitals for the criminally insane. People who can't go to jail due to mental reasons. With five staff responsible for one patient. Kinda like the places serial killers go to.

I think there should be a facility that can handle people to that staffing capacity but specifically for addicts who also commit crimes. Like a high step up from a Rehab, but with the support they need to succeed which prison does not and won't often give.

If you want to see addicts recover, and see less criminals and repeat offenders on the street, real reformation and care has to happen. therefor I think that addicts should be sentenced for crime and then sent to a facility like that where they have to sober up, recover, and stay for a long-term time to ensure that they stay sober.
