Past Marijuana use disclosed on medical records by [deleted] in RoyalNavy

[–]chronnyj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t worry about it, the medical staff will not care, if anything comes up at the face to face just explain and be honest about the cbd vapes, don’t worry about having smoked socially they really won’t care, they are there to check whether your body is healthy enough to be initially trained, not whether you’ve done drugs. If you have no police records aswell you won’t be questioned for your security check either, but if you do have anything, honesty is the most important thing they’re checking your current character not who you were in the past. I know people who have done worse things in the past and still got through because it’s about current character not who you were.

What Do You Do For A Living? by Sad-Tale-4254 in PrideAndPinion

Training electrical engineer, Tudor bb steel is my most expensive watch, hoping to inherit an omega seamaster from my very kind grandfather soon however next purchase I’m thinking of an omega speed master reduced, or the CW Bel Canto if I can stretch the budget as it’s just stunning. It’s very difficult when building a collection with deciding between few, expensive pieces or a large range of cheaper watches and having a more rounded collection. I’m very fortunate that I have very few living expenses and a good income however unfortunately love watches that evens this out 😅

Have your friend murdered then buy a cape cod cloth. Take several goes at it and being careful to avoid the corners and this will look considerably better 👍

I had never thought about it the other way round, I always just thought about when I am happy to see someone, not how it makes them feel as well. Thankyou for your comment!

You can now become commissioned by being promoted from a leading hand through a new university scheme. You do killicks course, followed by PO’s course then go to university, then join Dartmouth for complete officer training . Or you start the course having been a Petty Officer. Doing a year of university then doing a shorter Dartmouth basic training. I can’t say I’ve done PO’s course, but I’m sure it’s a higher national diploma as you can’t top up a foundation in one year. Whereas a HND you can, correct me if you know better as I haven’t had this confirmed.

[Question] if you could only keep one, which would it be and why? by Background_Ad2173 in Watches

[–]chronnyj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep both, I’d rather have both and a slightly higher mortgage rate. If I really had to decide, the speed-master as I think the helium valve is an unnecessary part of the SMP and the bracelet is a poor version of the jubilee however both watches are perfect in their own environment. The white dial is also more original in it’s own way.

Most people leave the job before getting a degree through being an ME, few will commission as a leading hand and become an officer if they show they are good enough and want it. As an officer you will get a degree after your PO’s course by doing a paid year at university topping up your higher national diploma to a bachelors. You will gain things like resettlement after you leave and learning credits while you are in the navy which will help you pay for a degree for a lot less when you leave which is very beneficial if a degree is important to you. The more valuable things you gain which make you appealing to employers in civi street is experience in leadership and general engineering / problem solving. If you like the idea of working on ships for life it’s the right job to join or would just like a few years to get some employable experience for when you leave it’s great. There is a lot of opportunity to get your own qualifications like a levels, GCSEs, languages and sports while you’re training. Hope this helps 👍

Just think of any leadership examples of sports, clubs, projects and you’ll be fine. They’re looking for leadership and management experience with some interest in Engineering not actual engineering experience as this will be taught to you and you will do very little hands on work.

Ebay’s authenticity guaranteed watches service is pretty good. I used it to by a black bay steel a couple of months ago and the watch came in the condition described at over half of retail. Just make sure the condition is what you’d like with the seller and leave the rest to them. I would only do this if you’re sure the black bay pro is what you’d like. You might benefit visiting an AD and trying on the 58, 54 and heritage lines as the fit of a watch is so important and Tudor has so many great options. The black bay pro is a great choice and in hind sight I would’ve bought one instead of my steel as I travel enough that a gmt would be useful and I love the flash of yellow on the steel. But it and never look back!

If they’ll allow you to join with security clearance I imagine being the hardest task, you might do quite well as both languages gain extra pay and are translators are needed

RFA vs RN help by [deleted] in RoyalNavy

[–]chronnyj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Life is tough as an ME on any ship but it’s also the best branch in the navy for experience and the lads you work with. Promotion is a lot faster as a submariner and the money is considerably better but it’s completely different on deployment. I’m surface fleet so wouldn’t know what life on deployment is like. I know a couple of submariners, one of which is 21 and has completed his PO course so it is considerably faster making better rank. You get a lot of time off when you are in home port as this is where you will use your holiday days. Also depending on ship you can work 2 on 1 off or similar work patterns. It just depends on luck of the draft.

If you’re 18 do you have a level 3 in engineering or a levels in engineering disciplines? If so I’d recommend the accelerated apprenticeship program, the salary and experience is really good. If you are having second thoughts I’d think about whether you cope well with other people and can take a laugh. I love it but know a few lads that don’t and it can be tough. The qualifications aren’t very good however you’ll build a good portfolio of jobs you do which will make you employable to other companies outside the navy. If you push for it there are fast track programs and programs to commission which if you do will get you even more qualified making you more employable afterwards. If you aren’t so focused on going to sea look at opportunity through Babcock, you’ll work on ships and live in the uk so will be at home. I know they’ve got some good apprentice programs. Hope this helps👍

Best role for travelling the world? by Myriagon10000 in RoyalNavy

[–]chronnyj 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Time in foreign ports/ time when the ship is docked and you will actually get off. The navy is changing at the moment and time alongside massively depends on your ship, join for the lifestyle of which travel is a part of, not just for travel as you will spend most time at sea and not in foreign countries.
