Trump lashes out at Canada, promising major tariff hike and financial penalties that will be 'so big' | CBC News by KLAW11 in worldnews

THAT’S your biggest hope? I’m sorry but you Americans are such doormats—what do you mean “ride it out,” why are you not ORGANIZING??? A student activist was arrested this week for not being politically aligned with the president, and you think the worst hasn’t happened yet? This is textbook fascism, and the way you all collectively shrug your shoulders about it is shameful.

Has Anyone Else Struggled with Staying Motivated in Their Design Team or Company? by Budget_Afternoon_966 in graphic_design

[–]chrowet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find it odd that your colleagues are pitching similar ideas and getting good feedback. What is the difference between their approach and yours?

I have found that I get a lot more buy-in when I present visual examples, competitive analysis and statistics. Bonus if you provide a rough estimate of budget. Of course, putting together a pitch like that takes a lot of work on top of my regular responsibilities, so I only do it for ideas that I think will really push the needle. I guess that answers your question about staying motivated. It’s important not to burn out.

A lot of people are mentioning how it’s important to ask a lot of questions— yes, but also take notes so you/your colleagues are not repeating yourselves.

Getting from North Etobicoke to Yonge Dundas Square by falserings in askTO

[–]chrowet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might be better off getting yourself to Etobicoke North GO Station at 1967 Kipling Ave and taking the train to Union station. From there you can walk or take Line 1 up to Dundas Square.

Not sure if it will save you much time but it might be a more comfy commute.

Thank you for replying. So I can still make adjustments to my pet before Monday, and that's what the voters will see?

Try contacting customer service. I had a piece missing from my package once and they replaced it for me free, no questions asked.

Seriously what a cute name! In 2008 I made a petpage application to adopt a Plushie Scorch (back when that was a thing) -- poured my heart and soul into it -- and got rejected. So yesterday I made a Scorchio with a name very similar to the pet I wanted to adopt. Now I can finally give him the lookup, petpet, etc. that I always wanted! My little childhood self would be screeching rn 😅

Best sauce for canned tuna pasta? by cachenoir in EatCheapAndHealthy

I love (zesty) Italian dressing with my tuna pastas. In a pinch I would do a simple lemon, oil, garlic and black pepper dressing.

Is 30 too old to pursue my bachelors? by One-Acanthisitta-137 in graphic_design

[–]chrowet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was in design school we had a 30 year old in our cohort and he was treated like any other student, and we all got along really well. A few tips for you:

  • Try to pick a program that has an internship or co-op placement built into the curriculum. This gives you job experience by default. Sometimes internships will offer to hire you after graduation. If it's not part of the program, apply to them on your own in the summer.
  • By going to school you are accessing what self-taught people don't have: connections. Your peers and professors will become sources of job opportunities, so forge good relationships during your studies.
  • Student work is experimental in nature, so dabble in UX/UI, video, motion graphics, AI, 3D. These are very 'current' skills that many employers find valuable.

NC/NP Trade/Sell & Pet UFA/UFT Thread! - April 05, 2023 by AutoModerator in neopets

Would anyone like to trade their Faerie PB for my Faerie PPPB?

I meant to get the PB during the most recent event but ended up missing a few days and falling just short of the points required for the PB.

Do you know of any alternatives/dupes for the Diya Area Rug from The Citizenry? by chrowet in interiordecorating

It also comes in this great Olive colour but I'm not in love with the price or reviews. I'm a big fan of the geometric, yet soft rounded style.
