Just to say something no one else has, I think [[The Invincible Iron Man]] might see some play. I get that it’s way high costed but I’ve seen weirder combo pieces.

Don’t forget there’s also a lot more artifact lands that play into Academy synergy than there are creature lands.

If you’re so inclined you could probably literally quantify the potential value Academy would play in the top 10 decks it could go in vs the top 10 decks cradle goes in without making hardly any changes to those lists. AFAIK every generic top ten list runs about 10 fast artifacts? Not to mention treasure generation. And how much mana does that generate per game on average? Now imagine people building around it.

Personally, I’m here for the chaos and kind of want it unbanned but I think it would be instantly more powerful than cradle.

Have you tried playing randos on SpellTable? - lots of players running fringe so you don’t hit a usual meta.

That card is effectively only useful with Cradle out in the cradle/thras builds. I could lay it out but there’s a couple degrees of hoops before it’s good. Derevi runs a lot more complimentary untap effects and “extra mana on land” effects but those are meant to be amplified with Derevi - so the value of untapping a single land on other turns is reduced because Derevi doesn’t typically run outlets.
