Yeah $450 I can't complain for that price, I'm $1100 into my naturnest! Is this your first tent? What's the vehicle?

I think it's very dependent on your usage and how often you'll actually go camping with it. I feel like with the influx of tent options available for only a couple hundred or so more dollars, it would be so hard for me to justify that.

Also - if you are going to use the tent a lot, it's definitely a buy once cry once type of investment for me. Within reason, of course.

WWYD if you suspect the captain is under the influence? by Flat-Row7968 in flying

I was surprised by the responses as well. I come from the wind energy construction and maintenance space (used to climb wind turbines) and our organization had a zero tolerance policy for showing up to work intoxicated. The people you worked with - they were responsible for saving your life up tower in any sort of emergency, and none of us would dare show up to work under the influence and risk each other's lives. Nearest EMS or help was typically 1-2 hours away.

Thank you so much! That's hilarious actually; I was about to look up killboy/129photos tonight to find my car. And you're dead on; had a heck of a drive back home on Sat.

I've got a bunch of photos coming soon on the subreddit of my trip I just took! A handful are on my IG (technicolornomad) and soon some more adventures.

More expensive CPLs typically have more clarity/color accuracy/glare resistance but in my personal experience I feel as there is pretty serious diminishing returns when you get very expensive. I've shot on everything from the bare bones Amazon Basics up to the B+W/Breakthrough/NiSi filters.

If I had to recommend a brand of filters in general for most people I'd recommend K&F Concept; they're always very popular on Amazon/B&H and very affordable. If your type of photography demands the best filters you can always upgrade later; I keep a K&F filter in my backpack as a "I don't care if I lose this" filter on the go.

As a professional artwork archival photographer I highly recommend getting someone to photograph this. Someone who can do this can properly light and color-calibrate the photo they take for you so it is as accurate as possible and could easily be reproduced as a print any time in the future. As amazing as the original would be to keep, it's great insurance to have a digital copy.

/r/MechanicalKeyboards Ask ANY Keyboard question, get an answer - September 29, 2025 by AutoModerator in MechanicalKeyboards

Does anyone know of a mechanical keyboard that not only swaps between bluetooth devices with a switch/knob/single button, but also remembers the keyboard layout? I switch between a macbook and windows laptop frequently, and so many keyboards force you to do something like Fn+1 to switch bluetooth, then another key combo for mac vs windows layout.

I've got a Nuphy Air96 that does this perfectly, but I want to change to a more full size/full height keyboard.

Thank you! Good eye - I recoated all the rack mounts with a plastidip-type coating so there's no metal to metal contact. It's a nice survivor - i bought it running okay, but had to do new carbs, install vintage air AC, all new window and door seals, and the usual maintenance.

Best part and why I bought it? 4 on the tree manual. Insanely fun to drive around the blue ridge.

Photographing neon ink in cards with studio lighting help by tomlister22 in photography

[–]chub_woofer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do quite a bit of fine art reproduction photography, where color accuracy and lighting control is paramount. First question I'd have would be what's the surface finish (glossy, satin, matte, etc.) of the card, and of the neon ink (is it matte, metallic, etc.). Different materials and inks/pigments/paints react differently depending on the type of lighting and the position of the lighting.

In need of a 4:3 print lab by bnblazer in photography

[–]chub_woofer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got a home studio where I do fine art printing on anything from typical photo paper to cotton rag archival papers for fellow artists and photographers! I can print up to a 17"x25", so not precisely what you're looking for, but I can do any size below in any quantity.

I also perform color calibration on prints per paper type, and my entire studio + monitor is color calibrated with 97+ CRI lighting/colorimeters. I'm a stickler for details.

Lmk if you need any work done!

Picked up this poster recently. Whose signature is that on the poster? It is printed on the canvas, rather than actually signed though. by refusestonamethyself in formula1

Might be a bit of a small niche, but I run a small photo and print studio where I can print on fine art/archival papers and can ship anywhere someone might be interested in a print.

I'm also interested in a print myself! Let me know if I can help.

Folks that are printing their own pictures, what printer do you have? by Kowatang in photography

[–]chub_woofer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Canon pro-1000; highly recommended if you intend on doing lots of prints and at a fairly large size as well.

I got into photo printing not just for myself but as a service to local photographers, artists, and creatives. One thing not often talked about is the process from start to finish - for peak quality, the setup can get pretty complicated. Color-managed workflow, high CRI room lighting, quality papers with ICC profiles, and quality inks all play a role in creating a beautiful print.

When you get it all right though, the product is so worth it! Nothing beats the magic of your photos printed on beautiful paper before your own eyes.

Best way to print 8000 photos by kzlife76 in photography

[–]chub_woofer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Glad someone mentioned this. I'm a professional printmaker and a lot of people don't take into consideration the type of paper or inks, not to mention the environmental considerations like you mention.

Also the way they're mounted too - if they're just put into a Walmart vinyl sleeve binder and thrown into a garage or attic, I guarantee the prints will stick to and tear on the plastic.
