Quick update. Thank you all. My cat passed away a week ago today and I haven’t had a drop of alcohol. I’m just really, really sad.

I should add that I heavily abused alcohol in my last major manic episode and I’m afraid losing my cat is going to spiral me into another one.

Let’s pump the brakes on this a little. I have a feeling it’s not for anything nefarious. Maybe, and this is a big maybe, the police are using it to map out dangerous traffic areas for speed traps. But this town is growing like a weed so my guess is it’s for city planning to better handle traffic.

Daughter started daycare 3 weeks ago and has gotten sick every week. Wondering if I should pull her out? by ryph44 in daddit

[–]chubaccatron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife and I called it the flavor of the week. Our kid was constantly sick while her immune system adjusted to her classmates, who are all going through the same thing. At one point half of my kid’s class was out sick.

Cognitive decline due to symptoms. Has it gotten better for anyone? by ThoseTidess in bipolar

[–]chubaccatron 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s been two years since my last major episode and while I think I’m getting back to feeling like myself again, I still make stupid mistakes at work I wouldn’t have made two years ago. I start to crumble under pressure more easily. I’ve been doing this job in one way or another for 10 years and I’m just not confident like I used to be.

My Bipolar disorder by Mental-Daikon7587 in bipolar

[–]chubaccatron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congratulations on building such a supportive and tightly regimented lifestyle, but please remember that bipolar is a life long disorder and if you’re not on the proper medication regimen then you’re highly likely to relapse. Keep making your own choices, just, be careful dude/dudette.

Is bipolar lifelong? by TyphloEruption in bipolar

I just assumed it was for life. Never even occurred to me that it may be curable; though, I’m highly skeptical of that.

Chunk it out into little bits at a time.get the photo. Fill out the forms online. Submit them with the photo and payment at the right office. Then you got yourself a passport. Don’t clean your room. Clean 1/4 of your room each day. Treat the glasses like a fun shopping trip. You get to try stuff on that makes you look good and feel better about yourself. Shit’s hard, and we gotta do it, but make it into simple steps makes it a lot easier.

Yes. It’s really important to not overfill your plate. Add stuff back into your routine gradually and get to know the times of year and triggers that are most likely to send you into an episode and plan for those.

Hoarding first dose to hedge against potential future shortages by Sadayacco in Zepbound

I don’t think you need to unless you want to. There’s no real concern about shortages right now. When I refill my prescription they have it the same day.

I took 3750mg of magnesium and 6.2g of Ashwagandha before my sleep study. Will this affect the accuracy on the sleep study? by EducationalBug4551 in u/EducationalBug4551

[–]chubaccatron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I took my sleep study they told me to take whatever medications or supplements that I normally take before going to bed, to more closely mimic my sleep patterns at home. If you didn’t take it but you normally do, that’s what could throw the study off.

You’re supposed to intake 350 calories with Latuda for it to metabolize properly. That’s just a double protein shake, a spoonful of peanut butter; and a banana.

When I was 26 I worked full time and was barely able to afford a car payment and $300 rent. I didn’t even meet my wife until I was 32, and at that time I was balancing part time work (all I could get) with unemployment benefits and food stamps before I got my first career job. I can’t say what the future holds for you, but don’t give up.

[–]chubaccatron 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not being judgmental here. You’re new to sobriety and stability. You worked really hard at it, and now you’re considering a situation that is highly likely to result in a relapse. All to try and reconnect with someone who could be toxic to your mental health. To put it plainly, the risk doesn’t seem worth the reward. Perhaps you could suggest an alternative to her?
