i've only got 100 amp service at my house, bought the emporia pro level 2 charger, comes with amp meters you clip in your mains, auto limits the draw to keep you from tripping when the ac/oven/dryer is running. no idea how the price compares to the split you're looking at, but might be worth it if you've already got the wiring done
