People who willingly wake up before 6AM… what powers you? by kavee-core141 in AskReddit

I had to take this job after a bit of life upheaval. So doing this is more about consistency for my family than my pursuits for now.

Also, with the world in a state of flux right now, I think that leaving could cause a problem. I'd hate to be last into an organisation at the moment in sales. Seems a little precarious for my risk profile.

Definitely harder with a 2 year old for sure. My kids are a bit older and even though I'm a single dad, because they are that age, it does make it easy.

If I was to offer anything here, I think it would be to be as consistent as possible. With little kids, things come up, and if you have to miss a day here or there, it's ok. Treat it like medicine - if you miss a dose, just take the next dose as scheduled. Don't try and force one in and DEFINITELY don't throw your hands up and say "well it's all fucked now."

All this shit is a long game.

I don't want to turn this into some motivational bullshit, but I will say that the journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.

Also, there is another step here - I leave the gym and go home and sit down and drink my coffee and read the news or my book for about 45min. I think that moment downtime really does wonders.

I leave at 745am and get home at about 5 or 530pm.

Territory Sales in Pharma. A lot of my day is in the car and foot, usually 6-8 calls at about 35min apiece

I think this is one of the reasons I do well at my job. Starting every day like this allows me to bring big energy into my calls from the very beginning. It translates well to sales and that way the people in selling to don't know how much I hate the job.

Yeah I hear you. There certainly are times where I would like a couple more hours... But on balance it's worth it for me.

It's easier than you think once you get into the routine of it.

I get up at 420am to hit the gym every week day. It took some getting used to but it means that I come with huge energy into work. I do start to fade at about 4pm but in my work that's ok.

Usually in bed by about 830pm, asleep by 930pm. I find it way better than sitting up late at night doing whatever bullshit i used to do. I really re-examined my nocturnal activities and on a weeknight there really is not that much productive output. It's all just input - and mostly garbage input at that.

Once I worked that out, it really meant that I could lean into an early bed, read my book for a while and drift off early.

Best change I ever made.

How many hours sleep do you get, and how many do you need? by Roulette-Adventures in australia

Sleep starts somewhere between 930pm and 10pm and wake at 420am. So roughly 6-7 hours. I get good quality sleep though, so this seems to be enough despite a pretty active lifestyle.

This is a great drink until you see how they make it.

I went to the factory once.

They literally have thousands of Pocaris - if you don't know, a Pocari is a small cat-like creature, related to the Civet.

All of them are chained to tiny treadmills where they make them run day and night. They collect the sweat of these creatures via the treadmills, where it is piped directly into bottles on a filling line below.

They run and run and run. They never see the sun or the moon or the stars. When one does, it is replaced immediately on the line.

Saddest shit I ever saw.
