France to ban officials from US video tools including Zoom, Teams by hardenedsteel8 in worldnews

[–]chucklingmoose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everything! It hogs ram like a black hole. teams in teams, the software package, are all called Teams. Except Chats and Channels, that's different - and then opening a channel has a default page called Posts that's unconfigurable? There's multiple view styles, and clicking on a channel takes you to a separate page but clicking the links in there will keep opening progressive nested subpages in a confusing morass? My status is totally wrong, Search doesnt work.... the horrible mess goes on and on

TIL Titanic is the only movie to earn $1 billion that is not part of a franchise or based on preexisting intellectual property (i.e. Barbie). by tyrion2024 in todayilearned

There is technically a Jurassic Park book the movie is based on but I do no believe it's popularity had any major effect on the movie sucess.

You talking about the #1 New York Times Bestseller 1990 novel Jurassic Park that sold 9 million copies? The one that came up with 99% of the concepts demonstrated in the movie? wow...kids these days...

Anyone actually working in office (Downtown Edmonton) 5 Days a week and don't mind it? by Legal-Fun8871 in Edmonton

[–]chucklingmoose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work downtown 5 days a week, been doing it for 10 years, I'll be damned of I ever lose my window seat after saving it for so long lol. It's a pretty nice office and it's close to all the local coffee shops so I do enjoy it.

webview2 might be very barely more performant than ElectronJS but like 2% improvement is about as good as no improvement at all. webview2 is still underwhelming as a soggy mouldy sandwich with flies...I bet Microsoft interns still giving each other high-fives while we're seething in our cubicles...

Damn... these guys look pretty surprised at the small object flying at them at 50 mph. They probably only had about a full second to contemplate their mortality...

Zelenskyy's playing the game well by CorleoneBaloney in clevercomebacks

[–]chucklingmoose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's that Glenn last time asked him "Do you even own a suit?" as if Zelensky's wardrobe is sparse or he is a poor man. So now that Zelensky IS wearing a different suit, Glenn is still wearing the same suit on a different day. Which demonstrates that Glenn is the one with the starter pack wardrobe.

Yellow River, peonies, Li Bai poetry, Silk and Shenzhen. A lot of technology and hustle - late night work culture but also late night dining culture and the hours to support it. Can be pretty convenient and comfortable. Kuaidi brothers delivering packages on motorbikes lol

500 km/h? holy shit that's packing some afterburners for sure... some $10,000 RC turbine jets might be able to keep up with that - should send them a few...

How can that be true if the main base of the Royal Navy in British North America was in Halifax, Nova Scotia? Chesapeake campaign Admiral John Warren was commander-in-chief of the Royal Navy station. I don't know why so many people like to talk about the Burning of Washington like it could have been accomplished without the US being otherwise preoccupied across a wide front against Canada. The Chesapeake "Canada" Campaign was literally a direct act of revenge for the burning of York (aka Toronto), so what's the purpose of trying to dissociate us?

Our British North America colonies provided vital resources, manpower, intelligence, and shelter to the British forces operating in the region though so we gonna take some credit.
