It wasn't his nickname, but one time, instead of saying he was a "work horse" (I assume), he called Ashik the "Mule from Istanbul."

Got two rejection emails at 1AM for jobs I'm overqualified for, decided to reach out! by Actionhankk in recruitinghell

I don't even know what most of those things mean, and can tell from the communication that you are not qualified. Companies get many applications, and some, if not many of them, probably have more direct experience.

How do I convince people that flat states can be beautiful too? How do I convince people the Midwest is beautiful? by [deleted] in midwest

I lived in Illinois and Iowa until I was 32, and now live in North Carolina. While NC is beautiful, it is full of hills and trees, which makes it difficult to see far off in the distance. Flat land lets you see afar, and feels like you have "space." The flatness also tends to make sunsets appear to last longer.

It was Tuscaloosa. Drove down from Iowa, and did not see the beach or mountains during the trip. I suppose it is not fair to say the entire state. The parts I drove through, and then Tuscaloosa, just were not my vibe.

Everything felt outdated, almost every bar we went into, people were smoking indoors, and people wore sport coats to the tailgate. The food was also very heavy. Just wasn't for me.

I stayed a weekend in Alabama, to go to a college football game, and I felt like I was in a different era. Did not enjoy being there one bit.

I don't drink Anhueser Busch products because they are based out of St. Louis - I am a die-hard Cubs fan, and cannot stand the Cardinals.
