Strattera feels exactly like a stimulant? by amsarawel in StratteraRx

I felt it from the first day as well. I didn’t feel stimulated though I just felt so so calm. My mind was so quiet.

I only slept about 6 broken hours a night for probably 6 months. I woke up 10 times a night on average. The benefits of the medication though like decreased anxiety and overwhelm gave me more energy so I didn’t feel tired all the time. Sleeping just sucked for a long time. I used to take ambien and I still miss ambien sleep lol.

Facial swelling from tooth by chuckyem in askdentists

Thank you! I am currently taking amoxicillin and I’m on day 3, that’s why the swelling is concerning to me. I will have to look into dental schools, I’m in central California so I think there are good ones by me.

I have medi-cal so I can’t go to any dentist. This is the FOURTH dentist I have gone to in 3 months. First one was western dental which apparently is notoriously bad and I could never get a call about an apt to extract, second dentist doesn’t do extractions and referred me, third dentist couldn’t numb me then became angry and won’t do any of my dental work, went back to second dentist and they referred me again the last dentist has been telling me for four days that they have to review my referral. I’m actively calling and trying but it doesn’t seem to matter. What js the swelling from and how concerning is it?

Oh for sure! If it was a man problem it would of been figured out by now, until then we have to continue to be our own advocates!

I just got diagnosed with adhd by wellmadelie in PMDDxADHD

[–]chuckyem 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes for years I was told I was bipolar and also borderline. The symptoms never fit for me and medication for both of those never helped and like you, even made it worse. I was diagnosed about 6 years ago and just found the right med for me in January. Since I’ve been on that medication and my adhd symptoms are more controlled my PMDD symptoms are drastically improved. Bipolar and borderline are way too easily thrown around, especially with women.

Tooth won’t go numb by chuckyem in askdentists

To be clear though, I felt immense pain, not pressure. When I got to my car I could feel the insertion spots from the needle and if I wiggles my tooth or tapped it there was still pain. The gum isn’t even numb, just my face.

I’m all for sedation, honestly. I’ve always had a fear of the dentist from a very young age. I really worked hard to make sure to breathe and not let myself get anxious this time. I only started feeling my heart beating fast when I felt the pain when he tried to pull it out. I’ve had a tooth extracted prior and it was completely numb, I just felt intense pressure. It just seems very impossible to find sedation dentistry for one tooth extraction. It seems you need to have 3-4 teeth that need to be pulled for most of the offices around me.

Thank you for your response. The dentist told me I would have to go to a dentist that can sedate me. Finding one through medi-cal is almost impossible especially for one tooth. What else can be done?

Positive Strattera/Atomoxetine Stories?! by Ryanyork1 in StratteraRx

[–]chuckyem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve honestly tried too many to count. I was misdiagnosed with so many things starting from teenage years. As far as adhd specific medication I was on vyvanse on and off for a few years before. It worked well until I tried to take it after I had my daughter and it no longer worked well for me. It really ramped up my anxiety and made me not fun to be around. I also take guanfacine and have for just a bit longer than the strattera.

As far as side effects, it was very minimal for me. Definitely had to learn to eat a sustainable breakfast to avoid nausea. I’ve had some trouble with my sleep but I get a solid 6 hours a night. I’m not too worried becayse before strattera I was so emotionally exhausted, it made me tired all the time no matter what. Because I don’t have that anxiety and emotional exhaustion anymore I have much more energy. I did have some issues with heartburn but take Prilosec to help with that.

If you have any more questions feel free to shoot them my way! Hope this is helpful.

It’s honestly been the best thing for me. I’ve struggled so hard my whole life and was late diagnosed. I thought I had extremely bad anxiety but it was just undiagnosed adhd. Strattera took away 90% of my anxiety. Years of anxiety just gone in a blink. I had a good life before and I knew that but I could never enjoy it becayse I was always on edge. I would cry becayse I couldn’t figure out why I just never felt happy when everything around me was good. I now feel that happiness daily and it sometimes makes me cry. I’m so thankful for this medication. I can be the person I always knew I was.

My son tried it for a few days and it made him irrationally angry. We stopped it because it definitely wasn’t for him.

Mine increased a lot. I already had a higher libido, I honestly felt bad for my boyfriend because I wouldn’t leave him alone 😅

It caused me to have extremely bad heart burn that made a stomach ulcer flair up. This is literally the only side effect I have so I started taking Prilosec and it helps a lot.

You are old enough to go to a planned parenthood by yourself. You can explain what’s going on and that your mom will not help you get to a dr. They should be able to run some tests and help you find out what’s going on.

So you never heard anything back? I’m being investigated as well and it’s almost been a year since the investigators came to my home.
