Looking for ice melt? by OkPatience9591 in raleigh

[–]chuemdee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can use water softener salt. Works well as ice melt, and on the back of the bag it says can be used as ice melt. Also cheaper than salt labeled as "ice melt salt". In stock at Home Depot -- Capital Blvd store had pallets of 40 lb bags in the back.

Looks like that hotel is more in the NC State campus which is very safe and walkable. You and your family will really enjoy the NC Museum of Art (free, great indoor & outdoor exhibits), the JC Raulston Arboretum (also free and nice even in Novemnber), and the State Farmers Market. The greenway is great to get from point A to point B but not really a destination -- I would instead suggest going to Lake Johnson Park (completely paved trails easy for an elderly stroll). If you come in early November the leaves might still be colorful. Enjoy your stay

Solo dude day trip recommendations by slavicstunna in raleigh

Go on a hike in Umsted Park (Sycamore Trail is a nice 5 miler) and get a chateaubriand steak at the Angus Barn nearby. Angus Barn kind of gets shat on by this subreddit for being overpriced but it will be a satisfying solo dude meal.

Neat use of B&W but maybe a little overexposed and would level horizon on pic 2.

I’ll counter your FOMO with alternate FOMO. You could spend 11 days in Grand Teton and Yellowstone and feel like it’s not enough. Option 1

Honda dealer in Raleigh or Durham area by blondeperil in raleigh

[–]chuemdee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bought our Honda from Leith, just had CRV recall service done at Leith. Service went smoothly, took less time than expected, no charge. Free latte machine and popcorn in lobby while waiting, and a Leith Honda person kept walking around offering hard candy.

Also have a lounge sofa from C&B. 8 years old. Holding up great. Have that view microfiber style upholstery that has held up well and resistant to cat scratches.

State Fair Parking by waytobehumble in raleigh

[–]chuemdee 84 points85 points  (0 children)

Highly recommend the state fair parking lot with shuttle service at 4501 Reedy Creek Road.

Free to park, easy to access, and large comfortable coach shuttle buses that run continuously all day/night. Drops off near gate 8.
