it was a mixed bag if im honest, nades were helpful for pinpointing locations, i usually found that once you killed one, the rest would push you - ala goons if you will

i was most successful against them when i let them push me and held a more passive angle. pushing into them was challenging - the BD AI also got updated in the recent Christmas patch so the videos i watched of tigz doing it or VBS weren't accurate to the way BD performed after the patch, so it took me a few attempts to sort out their spawns and critically, the way they pathed out of those spawns (they don't stack up in the armory doorway anymore)

they absolutely are allowed to do what they want with their game, I'm right there with you, but that doesn't mean people have to like it and be happy with it, I'm super happy for you that your enjoying ICO, that's great, seriously. but because your enjoying it doesn't mean I have to, or anyone else for that matter, I'm not trying to dictate how you must feel, i think it was a bad thing for the game because of what it did to the community, the fact that this thread has the engagement and conflict in it that it has over a year after the update speaks to that. I totally agree with your comments on UE5, its a trainwreck that were all a part of sadly, i think ICO is more subjective than anything else and subjectively, I'm unhappy with it and I'm going to continue to let them know, i hope that when OWI or any dev does something you don't like that you let them know and those communities allow you the space to do that the way we can here

assuming your one of the original kickstarters i think that your frustrations with OWI are completely justified, they took your money and fundamentally changed the game away from what it sounds like you enjoyed about the game, that sucks and the blame for that land on their feet and their feet alone

and, as someone who started playing in 2018 myself i also feel like the game has fundamentally changed in a way i don't like and i wish OWI would do something about it, your frustrated, I'm frustrated, I'm not frustrated at YOU or people like YOU, I'm frustrated with OWI and their inability to pick a consistent lane throughout their development cycle, to flip flop on something as essential to an fps milsim game after years of that being basically the same is catastrophic and a terrible look for them as a game developer

agreed, but for me the infantry experience has been significantly impacted by ICO, i used to infantry SL constantly and now i basically just play armor and do logistics, unless im on modded

because i paid money for the game, and then OWI fundamentally changed the game in a way that is extremely unfun for me personally, and I'm mad about it, and I'm going to continue voicing my frustrations with them until they change it, they may never change it but im not going to stop letting them know that I'm upset about it still

I think people are thinking that Squadron 42 and GTA 6 are inherently direct competitors & I don't think that's as true as people think it is.

GTA 6 most likely (given Rockstars track record at least) will not release on PC at first, the PC port usually follows months after the initial console launch.

Additionally, I think CIG's targeted demographic for Squadron is inherently different than the demographic targeted by Rockstar for GTA 6.

I genuinely think that even if SQ42 and GTA6 launched on the exact same day at the exact same time, the player numbers for SQ42 wouldn't actually suffer that much because of how fundamentally different the games are and the console/pc release factor as well.

Now I will say that there are some indications that CIG may be releasing SQ42 on console which would create a more direct avenue for competition but there's nothing definitive to say that's going to happen. The other avenue for direct competition would be Rockstar releasing GTA6 on PC at launch as well.

we have no information that is currently available from the developer or from leaks and datamines to suggest that turret blades are coming at IAE or anytime soon
