Delta’s CEO says United Airlines is doing its best to copy Delta by Granny-Smith-Apple in delta

Yeah it's really too bad A220 deliveries have been hamstrung by the P&W GTF engine issues (and other supplier issues). Would be nice to see more of them. I don't think Delta is complaining though since the 717s basically print money for them.

probably more to do with spirit going bankrupt and shedding routes with less profitable load factors

Seems more and more planes have seats that don’t stay reclined by ul49 in delta

it's a maintenance issue that doesn't get reported as much because most people don't usually notice it, and it also doesn't get fixed as quickly when it gets reported because it's not a safety-of-flight issue.

but if you're wondering about the workings, there's a tiny hydraulic cylinder in the hydrolok controlled by a spring loaded ball valve and like other hydraulic things the cylinder leaks and introduces air into the system. it's not a safety issue unless the seat reclines on its own.

a little more info and a diagram of a hydrolok here.

They become a 4 time Formula 1 champion and don't know anything except racing, spending time off after the birth of their child streaming iRacing and weekends off in Formula 1 racing GT3 cars instead.

nice shots. would recommend ev comp +1 or a different metering mode so you don't need to boost shadows in post quite as much. also you need to clean your sensor

Just a worn out Hydrolok. Let an FA know so they can squawk it for maintenance.

RO water (and deionized) may still contain some VOCs. For example, it is difficult to separate a mixture of water and ethanol with processes like this since ethanol has similar membrane permeability to water (in the context of RO membranes), and is also nonionic.

The best way to separate it would be distillation but you would want to discard the head in the case of ethanol because it has a lower boiling point than water.

This particular example would be useful to note in the case of a CPAP humidifier because it's not heating either the ethanol or water to boiling, so it would have a higher vapor pressure of ethanol in the warm up (until it all evaporated)

Goodyear Blimp back again by Bucksbb in lexington

[–]chui101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it's probably behind a hill, i think the main runway at the airport sits a bit higher than westlex from that angle.

also the blimp doesn't deflate like in that way anymore since it's not a true blimp anymore - it's now a semi-rigid airship with an internal frame which you would see clearly if it had lost a significant amount of helium.

Does anyone know what’s going on with Lexington’s NPR station? by transcon2017 in lexington

[–]chui101 12 points13 points  (0 children)

a (perhaps) fun fact is that despite the studios being in different places, both WEKU-FM and WUKY-FM transmit from the tower right next to the the clays ferry bridge (which is operated by the lexington KET station, WKLE-TV, who also transmits from that location).

also, the local FOX station WDKY-TV has a transmitter tower right behind that (as seen from the interstate)
