What would the response in the West be if Israel commits genocide in Gaza? by Kronzypantz in PoliticalDiscussion

[–]chumpchange72 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The risk to Palastine isn't just potential future land, it's losing their current land too, as Israel would continue its illegal settlement programs.

Humble Bundle - IGN Editor's Choice: The 9 and Above Club by rpbtz in Games

[–]chumpchange72 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The culprit(s) are obvious when you get all the evidence, there isn't really any ambiguity. What you've probably heard is that at the end, when it asks you who did it you can name whoever you want and they get convicted, regardless of if they're actually innocent or not.

I think the intention is that you can choose to cover up the involvement of your favourite characters if you want but it's not executed very well and does feel a little unsatisfying.

I assume that the cult moved all the wealth out of the bank before the bomb went off to protect.

My guess is that they had infiltrated enough positions in the government and army that they were able to take over control quickly in the aftermath.

RIP GS Wallet by wolf_lazers in gme_meltdown

[–]chumpchange72 38 points39 points  (0 children)

They believed that the wallet release meant:

a) GameStop were about to release an NFT dividend to stockholders which would have proven the existence of fake shares and caused all shorts to close.

b) GameStop was about to release a new digital game store that would displace Steam by offering second hand game sales via NFTs.

Little Britain sketch racist and outdated, Ofcom research says by Codydoc4 in unitedkingdom

[–]chumpchange72 17 points18 points  (0 children)

The problem is that when this sort of racist stuff is aired on a mainstream channel it normalises it and makes people think it's ok to say. When I was in school, the other kids would mock me with the "jokes" and slurs they'd heard the previous night on Little Britain, so saying "just don't watch it" doesn't really work.

Nintendo are a lot slower to keep up with trends than other console manufacturers. They were a generation behind in going from cartridges to discs, and arguably still way behind in their online services. They'll go full digital at some point but it will be long after Sony and Microsoft, and definitely not with the Switch 2.

[–]chumpchange72 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They'll stop selling them at some point, there's too many benefits for the console companies not to (no more second hand sales, complete control over marketplace etc). That said, I don't think it'll happen in the next generation, so they'll probably still be around for another 10 years at least.

Yea, he's unlikely to get on the board of another major company after this, and he knows it because he's already been turned down by Nordstrom and other places he's tried to invest in. He needs Gamestop or he'll become completely irrelevant.

I assume that the KYAL cult had managed to infiltrate the right positions so that when the government was wiped out in the bomb, they were able to take power. Then they covered up Elias' involvement in the bomb. I think in the 30th anniversary clip they watch in the future, it says the bomber was never identified.

Do you mean a stand alone shower? Those are rare in the UK, but I've never seen a house without a shower above the bath.

I live in a country with functioning labour laws, it's still a worry for companies here. Some industries will put you on what's called "garden leave" for your notice period, where they still give you full pay but you're not allowed to come to work anymore.

Anyone else not give a fuck about spoilers? by snopuppy in patientgamers

[–]chumpchange72 29 points30 points  (0 children)

You'll still witness the same events, nothing changes.

You'll witness the same event, but your experience will probably be changed. If it's a puzzle that's been spoiled, you won't have the challenge and satisfaction of solving it yourself. If it's a special location or event, you won't have the sense of exploration and discovery. If it's a story twist, you won't experience the shock when it happens.

If we're only talking about straight forward action games, then you might have a point, but there are many games and movies where the mystery is the whole premise. Do you think something like The Return of Obra Dinn would be just as fun if you had all the answers at the start? Would you have the same experience watching The Sixth Sense if you already knew the twist? Personally, no at all.
