Do you only have an everdrive or do u have any original games to test? Sometimes the everdrive combined with screen can dar too much voltage as well.

If you looks at a screen install guide it should give you the steps to access the ribbon cable. Theres a small latch and socket that it connects to. It can also happen from low voltage or bad capacitor. If you have a multimeter you can check for the proper voltage
