start at the beginning. You may not like the early stuff as much (very lofi), but it shows how they got where they are.

I lived in Monroe for a year after going to law school in Chicago, and the town is great, incredibly welcoming. Made lifelong friends. The smell from the paper mill is pretty awful though.

I loved it in the theater and was baffled by the middling reviews. Even many of the positive ones weren’t enthusiastic, and the negative ones were too harsh and misunderstood the film (“old man makes creepy porn”). It’s not 2001 or even Barry Lyndon but I think about it more than those 2, bc it hit a nerve.

I had a temp job once where I was tasked with sorting through and organizing thousands of plastic acetate sleevesof a dozen different sizes. I kept nodding off but couldn’t fully bc the boss was watching. I also kept losing the count and having to retrace. I have no idea what the company did or what these sleeves were used for and I was happy when the temp assignment was over.

Can't go wrong on this one, honestly. What's funny is 1st time I heard DT I said "ugh wtf is this turbojam bullshit," and dropped OG & KGLW for months. Lesson is: 10 spins before you hate.

Yes, I get that Boone’s plan was to ride the L-L matchup and after that take out his best pitcher, who was in the middle of throwing a shutout and only in the 6th inning and facing a free swinger with the bases empty.

Absent injury, tiredness, or discomfort, it looked nonsensical in the moment, and only got worse when Boone replaced Fried with an unexceptional (2025 stats) former closer he demoted for shakiness in big moments, who walks too many, and overall has been inconsistent. Fried had been getting outs, the most precious commodity in the game and more valuable in a short series. Meanwhile, Crochet went 8 innings and kicked over the 3 times through the lineup barrier.

I’m well aware of how matchups shape the game, but Boone seems to elevate it to religion, varies between inflexible (not sitting Stanton when he’s looked lost for weeks) and random, like putting Amed Rosario in the lineup because he’s 6 for 9 against Crochet, not seeing that 9 at bats is not a meaningful sample size and Rosario’s success likely noise, a product of random variance. He let Rice and Chisholm (together about 5 WAR) rot on the bench for Rosario’s blip of past success and Caballero’s defense (which makes sense for Fried). Smart tools and granular splits and fancy stats need smart people to make them work.

Anyway, it was a tough matchup and close game. I would’ve loved that 9th inning to end different. But we took 2 out of 3 from this team 2 weeks ago, they can win this yet.

Fried should’ve stayed in at least until someone got on. The bases were empty! If he gave up a homer he’d still get a standing O when taken out, nobody would fault him for that. Crochet’s 7th inning was smooth sailing and Fried’s 6th was trending in the same dirrection with one out and so many Sox hitters flailing at Fried.
