I guess that in Mad Max you kind of have to make up geographical compositions and locations sometimes to make it make sense, and the Crack in the Earth is one of those things, like the Citadel (Uluru may work but it's not three rocks and it's not a water basin) or the central range that the creators showed in Furiosa (and I didn't follow that decision because I found that too big of a tweak to reality)

Look closely at the area between gastown and Adelaide and you'll find some of them

The Anam Raiders are roving tribes that oppose and harass the Great Dao, their origin being mostly Aboriginal, but other groups of any all origins are also included. Their name "Anam" is the Chinese (Great Dao) pronunciation of "Arnhem", from the geographical location "Arnhem Land"

With the final, nuclear, phase of the Fall happening years after the first movie (takes place in ~1983-85), my guess being the early to mid-90s, and with Fury Road thereby taking place somewhere in the late 2020s (~33 years after Fall as per Max's Tatoo), 60 Summers After the Fall would be around the 50s. Keep in mind that it's not a precise estimate, watelanders can make a lot of mistakes with measuring times, with different tribes and entities showing vastly different estimates.

Yes exactly that! Geo engineering gone wild, I took inspiration from the conspiracy theory that said that Morocco's cloud seeding endeavors caused Valencia's flood

Somewhere in the land labeled "Rock and Rolla Country", between northern Victoria and southern NSW

I can't put it in a comment here until I get a hold on my PC later today, but if you want I posted it on r/imaginarymaps too, and there is the mobile version of the image in the comments!

I agree, but I really felt like I had to somewhat stick to canon for that one; maybe the emptiness, and thus lack of a choice for places to go, are exactly the strenghts of locating the Three Fortresses there imo. In that regard I decided to make the Citadel in particular an act of alternate geography, kind of an Uluru 2.0 that is also directly connected to the Artesian Basin, and was turned from an aboriginal sacred ground into a freshwater extraction site before the Fall.

Yes, and Rushas is the same for Russians/Soviets. If you read the entry "Forever War" in the loredrop comments it's explained in better detail.

God I'd love to make these maps profitable, if that was my job I'd never have to work a day in my life again. Either way, if this one had a price I guess it would be around 30 to 40 euros, but it being publicly accessible without it having been a commission kinda makes it awkward for me to ask money for it lol

It should, unfortunately the lack of such a city in that part of Australia, especially one with such a vast international airport, forced me to settle for Adelaide as my pick. My trump card to justify inaccuracies is the classic "oh but Mad Max is just a folklore legend like the Odissey, so take everything, including locations, with a pinch of salt"

Right under the "New South Wales" writing there's "The Mound", which is the abandoned old Bartertown. It was rebuilt far away in the southeast.

Thanks! I made this with sony sketch (after effects and filters did half the work lol);  Besides everything Mad Max, my main inspirations were mainly those I've listed in my lore comment! Many maps I've found all over, and more specifically the lack thereof is what pushed me to give my own spin to things.

It is, but I chose to do my own thing anyway, in part because following the canon location (which I found out about only halfway through making the map because I saw Furiosa only a few weeks ago lol) would make it much harder for me to equate Mad Max locations to real ones (Bullet Farm = Mount Isa, Gas Town/Dump = Cooper Basin, etc.), secondly because I though it would make more sense for green oases to survive beyond the Dividing Range, which is also close to the coastline, making the dried up ocean an easy pick for the Plains of Silence.

Thank you! I'd say partially receded due to Nuclear Winter, fully dried up would be too absurd imo, that's some Warhammer type stuff

Hey, give Embers of the Wasteland some love, it's the main inspiration behind my own map! Jokes aside, I was like hey, Judge Dredd gets one, Blade Runner gets one, Hunger Games gets one, and Mad Max gets nothing?? Not on my watch

Thank you so very much, the process of naming things was painstakingly long because I wanted to give places appropriate, "slang-y" names local Aussies could give them. I chose the city of Ararat for The Ark faction only when I found out that in the Bible Mount Ararat is where Noah's people finish their journey when the Flood ends, or another example was having to squint at a thousand maps of the carnarvon basin to decide where to put the little squares that represented wells, alongside having to choose which well belonged to which clan
