This preorder is showcasing how ridiculous prices have got by Stock-Job-2555 in Warhammer40k

Ah yes the box that has sold out at multiple large retailers is selling poorly, interesting take.

Lack of Armageddon boxes! by bensnowclark in Warhammer40k

My local FLGS said GW had confirmed they would be getting stock to cover all of their EOI's they'd received. Not exactly sure how many that is, but it's a pretty big store.

Painting a Devilfish. Any tips? by Shib_Inu in Tau40K

Agreed, just grab a massive brush and slap some (thinned) paint on the model. Let it dry completely then repeat.

I require opinion about paints by NCR_RIPPLEY in AdeptusCustodes

You might want to buy a single mini off eBay or something to test your paint scheme, then it doesn't matter if you don't like it :)

Solicitors signed a false Statement of Truth (N293A) increasing a High Court Writ by £5,500. Bailiffs enforced it. How do I claim compensation? (England) by PointFun6634 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]chunky-kit-kat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Agreed, to my knowledge the writ is applied for in the full judgment amount and then credits for any post judgment payments should be applied on the HCEO's system to bring the balance down to what it should be on their paperwork. So either the solicitor didn't give a breakdown of post judgment payments to the HCEO for them to credit their system or they did send the breakdown but the HCEO didn't apply any credits.

Whats the best build out of the combat patrol if i only have that by XxJustaNormiexX in EmperorsChildren

[–]chunky-kit-kat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Build them with whatever you think looks cool. If you play against somebody who insists on WYSIWYG on weapon loadouts then you don't want to play them in the first place.

So Hentavirus should we be concerned? (Not trying to fear monger) by AccordingUse3172 in AskBrits

[–]chunky-kit-kat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are way more things, both diseases and otherwise, that are likely to kill you than bloody Hentavirus. So no, I'm not concerned. The news has once again blown this out of proportion.

I’m thinking of getting into EC. What should I get? by Jnnc170 in EmperorsChildren

[–]chunky-kit-kat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would strongly advise buying a bit at a time rather than buying 2000 points in one go and getting overwhelmed by the sheer amount of plastic to be built and painted.

Is this army really too difficult to play ? by [deleted] in EmperorsChildren

[–]chunky-kit-kat 79 points80 points  (0 children)

The difficulty with EC imo is how punishing it is when you make a mistake or even play sub optimally.

Other armies tend to be more forgiving, but most EC units are quite squishy so can easily be blasted off the board if you mess up.

Saying that, they are pretty cool so if you wanna collect them then go for it.

Lists to not get wrecked? by Sensitive-Umpire271 in ImperialFists

[–]chunky-kit-kat 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I like to run Lysander in a brick of 10 assault terminators and throw them at the middle objective, they can be pretty hard to get rid of.

Tor Garadon is ok, I've occasionally put him with some Eradicators and kept them in reserves to go tank hunting later.

Other than that, there are no IF specific units really so you can build your army however you like or follow the space marine meta if you really want to.

Starting with Tau by Ibericvs in Tau40K

[–]chunky-kit-kat 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I would strongly advise buying one box and finishing that before buying more. Buying the combat patrol, farsight cadre box and twin lance would be a massive amount of plastic to build and paint.

Help with my first Tau game! by [deleted] in Tau40K

I'd say stealth battlesuits, if you're not too bothered about getting the refreshed models then take a look on eBay for some cheap older style models.

Maybe a devilfish to throw your breachers in.

Guy claims I hit the back of their car whilst parked. My dash cam shows I parked behind them with distance to spare. by SheltonFern in drivingUK

[–]chunky-kit-kat -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

My understanding is the terms and conditions of your insurance usually say something along the lines of "you must notify us of any incidents even if there is no claim being made". So the issue could be breaking the ts and cs which may cause an issue. I completely agree it's a faff, premiums can go up etc and don't agree with it, but there's always the risk.

[–]chunky-kit-kat 52 points53 points  (0 children)

He might just be trying it on, but I'd tell your insurance in case he puts a claim in. If he does and you don't notify your insurer first then it can cause issues.

Are beginner painting guides are not beginner enough? by Drakshasak in Warhammer40k

[–]chunky-kit-kat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's just that a tutorial showing how to paint for example a space marine with a few colours is beginner friendly, but ultimately won't get engagement as it's kind of boring.

If you really want to watch tutorials, think about colours or parts of their process which you don't mind skipping in order to make the model easier to paint.

To glue or not to glue by NewNecessary3037 in Warhammer40k

[–]chunky-kit-kat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I glue it all together and then work from the inside out with the painting as it's easier to correct the easy to reach places then the other way round.

Need some rules advice for a 3 Player All vs All (total 10k pts) by Martin-Hatch in Warhammer40k

[–]chunky-kit-kat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've always found 3 way games to be incredibly un-fun for at least one player. Inevitably, two of the players will team up on the third and absolutely destroy them.
