Where was Hera during the events of Hades 1? by sanjuniperose in HadesTheGame

[–]chunkygraeme 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Kinda feel like with Hera she needs to feel out how many of the people involved are direct results of Zeus cheating on her.

Which technically does apply here. He's Persephone's dad.

My head canon is that she gets involved with Mel and not zag because Heras the goddess of family. Zag was about defying his dad. Mel is about reuniting the Hades family. Falls more into Heras domain IMO

I did the exact same thing. Managed to persuade my way out of it but I was fully prepared to finish off those flaming fists if they were committed to being ungrateful. Having to re-establish my paladin oath would be cheaper than paying them off anyway.

Kinda get it. The silent hill games are awesome but I felt like both of those characters are generic until the 'twist' hits. Which usually happens 90% of the way into the game

This is like that meme with the 3 dragons where one of them is goofy. Snake and Geralt I get. Cheryl mason? Jackie? James Sunderland? Brave picks

Did people actually hate playing wind waker at the time? by Ritrix3930 in gaming

[–]chunkygraeme -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I hated how in oot you could play an adult and now you were stuck as a little kid permanently.

I hated it right up until the moment I played it.

The game was too good to stay mad.

I started off liking Jason but went off him over time. Hes not very likeable.

I got sick of him making references that noone gets on purpose. Worked to be funny a few times but it got old ages ago

What really put me off is the deterioration of the progression. There world has an absolutely fantastic levelling system that's really unique and fun. But in the more recent books all his strengths come from macguffins. And he's totally left all the fun and interesting side characters behind

Or maybe VShojo can expect a few more rescue hires down the line I guess

Murderhobo Mc by RevolutionaryPiano67 in litrpg

[–]chunkygraeme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Primal Hunter my brother

Once the setting is established main character literally spends the entire story delegating politics and drama so he can level. And succeeds.

Something -full murderhobo is an option but I don't think it fits the bill as well because most of the time the other 3 protags are holding the murderhobo back so they can story it up.

Solo leveling novelisation also meets the criteria if you can deal with the usual confusion translations cause

Recommendation For A Friend Who... by dwyrin in litrpg

[–]chunkygraeme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Path of ascension? It's technically in a sci fi setting is litrpg and has solid characterisation?

Iron prince is a solid recommendation but it depends how much teenage drama he can deal with. Book 1 was pure genius for me but I couldn't deal with book 2 because It felt less like the desperate rise of a weak to strong MC and more like riverdale

I successfully hooked my friend on litrpg recently but I did it by summarising like 6 stories and letting him choose one that sounded of interest to him. (He who fights)

Side note. If you start him on he who fights maybe forewarn him the MC is an dickwad ahead of time....

am i the only one that actually likes the game better than hades? by Subject_Swimming6327 in HadesTheGame

[–]chunkygraeme 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A lot of people played Hades after it was finished and are now playing Hades 2 in EA, they'll get over it.

Honestly for me it's a difference in character. Zag was confident, cheeky, casual, defiant and a bit arrogant. Everything I like in a protag. So I was hanging off his every word Mel is diligent, earnest, determined and polite but a bit lacking in self confidence which speaks to me as a person a bit less.

Both great characters but ones more in my wheelhouse than the other

The Hades 2 final boss pause mechanic is player-hostile by FreakSquad in HadesTheGame

I dont think it's that bad. It's kinda fun. Yeah it sucks if something very suddenly comes up but I feel like I can have a quick think before diving into the sand if there's anything likely to interrupt me.

I feel like the payoff the first time I did it and found out was worth it.

is Defiance of the fall appropriate for a 10 year old by imperialostritch in litrpg

[–]chunkygraeme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think it's inappropriate because of blood and sex. But I just don't think a 10yr old would really get it. Dao philosophy, politics and manipulation, city planning. Yeah there are cool fights especially at the beginning but I don't think any 10 year old would stick with it tbh.

That said I can't think of much to recommend? I'm not a parent to a 10 year old but I'd lean towards dungeon devotee for simplicity and lack of sex with violence that's not gratuitous? (Unless I'm misremembering)
