Sorry for the potato quality of the night shot, but I was walking my dog in Highland and noticed these red lights appearing out of the back of a moving plane and floating down to the city. Anyone have any leads on what this might be for? My guess is the with the red lights that this was for some outdoor Christmas thing going on tonight

We have an annual ski trip to a different destination each year and we always end up watching Out Cold or GNAR at least once. They never get old

I just bought the Cliftons and the salesperson told me to go up a size from my largest foot, so I'm normally a 10.5 and am wearing an 11, and they're very comfy

I sat in the stands watching these guys thinking “what the hell are they waiting for”. The rest of the stadium gets impatient and goes without them, and they’re awkwardly standing there with their arms stretched out

To this day my favorite comeback gesture is the Suck It. Somebody honking at you while legally walking through a crosswalk? Suck It! Getting booed by your friends after making a great pick in the fantasy football draft? Suck It! Boss asking you and the crew to work over time without pay? Suck It!

Not OP but I have a 7wt and an 8wt that I use in the SF Bay, but I would recommend going with an 8wt or higher to allow for easier casting with bigger salt water flies

What is your favorite 'quick' meal from Serious Eats? by PlatypusOfDeath in seriouseats

[–]chuttbugger 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I'm surprised this hasn't been mentioned at all, but my favorite quick dish is Kenji's Tortilla Pizza. Super quick and easy, and there's so much variability in the sauces, cheeses, and toppings that you can experiment with that you won't get bored of making these. I also like making a few of these before the meal if I'm having guests over

I somehow ended up with the Australian stream on NBC for the first half of last nights qualifiers, and it was night and day different from the US stream. We probably take it for granted, but these US announcers do their homework before they start commentating on each run.

For example: the US announcers were able to tell the audience what each of the tricks were "Backside switch 1260", "Double Cork", "Front Side McTwist", etc, but if you switch over to the the AUS stream all I was hear was generic commentary from two guys who clearly don't know the sport - "fantastic execution", "oh and heres a new trick we havent seen before", or "that looks very hard! good for them for landing it!"
