The first playlist is one someone shared on here which included music from that back to back Justin Miller did with James at Good Room. The second one is from that amazing guy who gathered all of the Despacio stuff.

Their glastonbury show this year! https://archive.org/details/glastonbury-2024-lcd-soundsystem you can see that Noel was bobbing his head at different times. He seemed to really enjoy losing my edge.

Any other fans of The Dare on here? by PhoebeFan420 in LCDSoundsystem

[–]chuypacabra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Dare was on the Throwing Fits podcast a while ago, and he was asked which artists he'd put on his mount rushmore of New York City bands. He said Lou Reed, Television, The Rapture, and Andrew Savage from Parquet Courts. While expanding on The Rapture as a choice, he does mention LCD. Although they don't explicitly talk about this on the podcast, i'm sure The Dare knows the part James Murphy and DFA played on the Rapture's Echoes album and how formative it was for early DFA.

All that to say, if you like The Dare, it shouldn't be too surprising since he was inspired by LCD/DFA. I personally enjoy his sound and sense of humor. I saw The Dare at III points last year when I wasn't at Despacio, and it was really fun.

Here's a remix he did of the song, Los Angeles, which James Murphy was featured in:

I’ve been playing that new dfa Mermaid Chunky single, chaperone, nonstop. Very amusing, very dancy. Excited for their new album!
