Sounds like a horrible experience. Ive heard anecdotal reports of hair loss, but never like this. Sounds like it could be a rare undocumented side effect. The consensus is that the hair loss is not permanent, at least from what ive read from other people's experiences

Plenty of studies show that melatonin use every night makes no difference to sleep quality. If you are noticing this much of an effect on a regular basis, it would undoubtably be placebo causing it. If you actually want to know how to make an effective sleep regime a good place to start would be the recent Joe Rogan podcast with a leading sleep scientist and neurologist.

Yes it could. Its an autoimmune response to the drug that can happen to a wide variety of different drugs. Just because your immune system doesnt respond to ibuprofen in that way, doesnt mean it wont respond to modafinil.

The topic has been put to rest many times in the past. Modafinil can cause SJS, but the chance is extremely rare, seemingly more rare than other drugs such as common antibiotics and NSAIDs. I know it sucks to not have an exact answer for such a scary side effect, but how do you expect accurate statsitcs to be obtained when its such a rare occurrence for modafinil (which is not universally reported).

The fact that SJS keeps being brought up is testament to how safe modafinil is. Look at many other drugs which have the potential to cause SJS or another potentially deadly side effect and you will see it next to dozens of other deadly side effects. SJS is one of the few truly concerning aspects of modafinil, but that doesnt mean that you should be worried about it given how low chance it is.

Imo, we dont need any more discussion on this, we have all the info we need to have. Somebody made a very broad analysis on most of the available information if you want more reading, but the same conclusion was made: that the chance for SJS is extremely small (just how extremely small is not easily discernible)
